Dragon Quest Treasures sees players hunt for valuables and recruit monsters all over the five island regions of Draconia, and features a randomized dungeon known as The Snarl, whose B1 Portal level hosts a powerful boss that drops rare rewards named the Golden Goliath. There are ten encounters in total for each of The Snarl's four floors, but players may only access these areas once their reputation has increased enough through their Gang Rank. Although there are plenty of tough fights to be had within The Snarl, players that are familiar with its creatures beforehand have a better chance of traversing forward to the boss and earning special items.

The Golden Goliath found at the end of the B1 Portal of The Snarl drops Sanguinite, an important stone that unlocks other areas of certain islands to help players progress through the story of Dragon Quest Treasures. This boss will also relinquish a Medal upon defeat, but the B1 Portal is only available to players that have a party of Gang Rank 4. Thankfully, one of the first missions in the game is to raise the notoriety of Mia and Erik through this process, so players will have an early opportunity to travel into the Snarl's first level during their journey.

Defeating the Golden Goliath in Dragon Quest Treasures

Dragon Quest Treasures Golden Goliath Boss Fight with 3 Monster Allies in The Snarl B1 Section Playing as Erik

The ten fights that lead up to the Golden Goliath showcases monsters from all around The Patternoggin, which all are Level 10 along with the boss. Players should have some familiarity with these beasts as they tackle each challenge leading up to the Golden Goliath, yet the B1 section of The Snarl does not pose incredible difficulty. The only exception comes from the King Orc enemies toward the end, whose Charge attacks deal considerable damage.

Healing the recruited monsters of Dragon Quest Treasures in a player's party before engaging the Golden Goliath may become the difference between success and failure, so players should keep an eye on their team as each battle progressing to the boss takes it toll.

The two attacks that the Golden Goliath uses are its Stomp and Light Club, both with a long starting animation that makes it simple for the player to predict. This larger and more gilded variation of a standard Goliath has weaknesses to light and dark attacks, encouraging players to equip Zam or Sizz pellets in order to deal massive attacks from afar while their team handles the ire of the beast up close.

Attacking the Golden Goliath from behind while its attention is drawn to the player's monstrous friends elsewhere also gives players an advantage when looking to collect every reward possible from The Snarl's B1 Portal in Dragon Quest Treasures.
