The world of Dragon's Dogma 2 is already massive but one player managed to impress the community by revealing a secret way to make it just a little bit larger. Through the Arisen's adventures, they'll undoubtedly come across an assortment of debris and abandoned siege weaponry given that these massive tools of war are scattered across the map. Thematically, it makes sense given that Capcom's fantasy world is steeped in a deep and complicated history of warring nations but what the game doesn't tell you is that some of these gigantic armaments are still functional.

Posted to X (formerly Twitter), @Peppo_LS shocked Dragon's Dogma 2 fans by sharing a video of their character using a massive catapult, promptly flinging a small boulder to the other side of a ravine and shattering a wall of stone on the other end, opening up a hidden path.

The replies are filled with players expressing both excitement and confusion given that the game never explicitly states whether the catapults can be used. Others have simply shared their appreciation of the game, noting that Capcom's attention to detail is second to none.

Dragon's Dogma 2 runs a lot worse than it should on PC, but there's one clever tactic that could gain some frames at a potentially major cost.

How To Use Catapults In Dragon's Dogma 2

Players wondering how to use functional catapults in Dragon's Dogma 2 are in luck because the process is remarkably simple and requires zero resources. Once a working catty's been found, s can pick up one of the nearby boulders and load it into the sling, prompting a brief clip that follows the rock as it soars towards its target. The best part is that the device is then automatically reset by the Pawns in the players' party, meaning the Arisen shouldn't have to put in too much effort.

The original Dragon's Dogma was released in 2012 while the Dark Arisen expansion arrived a year later in 2013.

It's worth noting that not every catapult in Dragon's Dogma 2 will unearth a new path as some are either broken or just launch their payload at nothing in particular. Given the sheer amount of the weapons scattered about the place, one has to imagine that the community will be hard at work documenting which ones can used to create shortcuts between locations and which are simply duds. That's not even to say anything about how effective they could be in combat although it might take some practice to pull off the shot.

The catapults are just one example of the secrets hidden in Dragon's Dogma 2, a game that has earned an amount of microtransactions that quietly launched alongside it. While these caused a great deal of frustration upon launch, none of the items available to purchase are required to progress through the game.
