In Dragon's Dogma 2, Gold is the primary currency that allows the Arison to buy various goods, from common to rare. The game also features Rift Crystals, used for hiring Pawns, and Discipline Points to acquire skills and Vocations, which boost players' and their main Pawn's combat effectiveness.

In an expansive world that beckons exploration, finding the most efficient method to accumulate Gold quickly is crucial, especially if you've set your sights on specific items early on. Securing Gold swiftly is critical to equipping yourself for the adventures ahead.

Player culling monsters in Trevo Mine in Dragon's Dogma 2.

Culling Requests are triggered upon encountering NPCs under attack by enemy mobs. Eliminating nearby monsters assists these NPCs and yields significant Gold rewards. Captain Brant issues the first Monster Culling request when you arrive in Vernworth and rewards you with 7000G upon clearing Trevo Mine. Additionally, valuable ores and iron within mines can be sold to vendors for a great price.

If you rest overnight, enemies respawn within mines, effectively creating a Gold and XP farm.

Loot Fallen Enemies

Looting the corpses of defeated enemies can yield a modest amount of Gold. While individual amounts may be small, the game's plentiful monster population means consistent looting can quickly accumulate Gold. Additionally, enemies drop useful items and materials that can be sold to merchants for extra profit.

Cyclopses drop the Misshapen Eye, worth 900G, while Ogres drop Rugged Bones, individually valued at 300G.

Venturing through outlanders’ ruins or abandoned villages often leads to hostile encounters with bandits, carrying anything from 200 to 3000G. Looting these fallen enemies becomes a significant source of extra Gold.

Can You Keep Playing Dragon’s Dogma 2 After Beating The Game?

Open-world RPGs are often pretty lenient in letting players explore the world after finishing the story, but Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an odd case.

Find Gold Pouches And Treasure Chests

Pawn opening a treasure chest for the player in Dragon's Dogma 2.

Through your ventures, you will find Gold Pouches hidden within the corners of buildings or scattered across natural landscapes like mines and caves. Always keep an eye out for this item while exploring, as these pouches offer varying amounts of coin. The wealthy district of Vernworth is a prime location for Gold acquisition, thanks to its plentiful pouches and treasure chests, often amounting to around 2000G.

For optimal gain, the Mystic Spearhand class offers an exclusive Augment called Opulence. This augment increases the Gold received from each pouch by an additional 50 coins, making it a unique benefit of this class.

Treasure chests, frequently encountered across diverse locations and points of interest on the map, are reliable sources of Gold. They can be located in buildings, atop towers, nestled in rough terrain like rocky slopes, or in spots accessible only to Mages via Levitate. Occasionally, Pawns in Dragon's Dogma 2 may highlight a hidden area housing a chest. Stay vigilant for Exclamation Marks on your mini-map, guiding you to these valuable finds.

Sell Your Unwanted Items

Selling unwanted items in Dragon's Dogma 2 both earns you Gold and also alleviates your carry weight, aiding in inventory management. Merchants in major towns can buy your items, with weapons and armor typically fetching higher prices. However, consider your items carefully when trading, as a future change in Vocation for yourself or your main Pawn could render seemingly unnecessary items valuable.
