Players need to spend their money wisely in microtransactions in Dragon's Dogma 2, but rather a provision for players to count their coins carefully.
Still, some goods are functionally useless, a downright waste of money. And no, this isn't about the item forgery industry in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It has everything to do with a perfectly legitimate, if somewhat clandestine, service the Arisen can pay for. However, if they're not careful, they may end up spending a pretty penny for next to no reward.

Dragon's Dogma 2 Review: "A Wonderful Journey, & A True Novelty"
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is guaranteed to take you on a memorable and immersive adventure, but it’s liable to include a few hiccups along the way.
Don't Spend Money At The Rose Chateau In Dragon's Dogma 2
DD2's Brothel Is A Waste Of Gold
There's almost no benefit to spending money at the Rose Chateau in Dragon's Dogma 2 - to say the result is underwhelming would be an understatement. After completing the quest “The Stolen Throne” in Vernworth, players will receive an item called the Myrmecoleon Card. This grants them access to a secret bordelrie - a brothel - secreted away beneath Vernworth Hall. If they visit again after the quest, they can pay one of its courtesans 20,000 G to spend the night with them.
However, the scene that follows is basically pointless. It simply depicts the Arisen and their hired companion sitting at the foot of the bed, then cuts to a silent black screen. And that's really it: the next thing the player sees is the Chateau window, as the camera slowly zooms out to show the Arisen partially undressed. The screen fades to black again, and when it comes back up, they're fully clothed and ready to go. There's no special scene, no buff, no affinity increase, no anything but a waste of 20,000 G.
The one potential benefit of a night at the Rose Chateau is that it effectively counts as resting at an inn. This means players will gain all the usual benefits of a good night's sleep: a full HP restoration, and the removal of the loss meter. Still, this is far from the most cost-effective way to rest one's head in Vernworth. Shakir's Inn, located in the Merchant Quarter, only charges a tenth of the price - 2,000 G - for a perfectly able, if relatively lonely, room.
The loss meter decreases the Arisen's maximum HP slightly each time they take damage or fall in battle. While HP can be restored in the field with food and drink, loss can only be reversed by staying at an inn.
There's no achievement related to staying at the Rose Chateau, either. It may seem that the Myrmecoleon Delights achievement requires players to hire the services of the Rose Chateau, but as it turns out, it's not actually necessary to pay 20,000 G to receive the achievement. In order to earn the achievement, all a player needs to do is enter the Chateau, which they'll do automatically during "The Stolen Throne." This is an unmissable achievement. However, it's only worth ten Gamerscore on Xbox, and 15 points on PSN, so it's not exactly a badge of honor.

Starting This Dragon's Dogma 2 Quest Before You're Ready Could Ruin Your Entire Game
The point of no return comes pretty abruptly in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Here’s how to prepare for it, and everything players can expect to come after.
Is The Platinum Myrmecoleon Card Worth It In Dragon's Dogma 2?
After visiting the Rose Chateau and paying for its services several times, the Arisen will be invited to purchase a Platinum Myrmecoleon Card for an additional 48,000 G. This status symbol grants them access to the previously forbidden third floor. Don't think things are any different up here, though. There's a slightly larger selection of courtesans when all three floors are unlocked, but the experience with a Platinum Myrmecoleon Card is no different. Once the player spends the additional cash, they'll be treated to a scene identical to those they experienced downstairs, only with an extra air of regret.
So in short, no, the Platinum Myrmecoleon Card is not worth the money, at least not for the immediate benefits. All expenses considered, players will have to drop over 100,000 G in order to get to the third floor. To make matters worse, a night with one of these high-end courtesans costs more than those on the lower floors - a whopping 30,000 G. That money could be put to much better use, on things like consumables, houses, or gear for Pawns and player characters in Dragon's Dogma 2.
There's one catch, though. There are two Seeker's Tokens located on the third floor of the Rose Chateau, and the only way to get them is to have a Platinum Card. Collection of these rare items is tracked throughout Dragon's Dogma 2, and once the player reaches certain milestones, they'll be able to claim rewards at Vocation Guilds and some inns. These rewards include some of the best gear available in the game, and are certainly worth the effort of finding and redeeming tokens.
In order to find Seeker's Tokens more easily, characters with the Trickster Vocation in Dragon's Dogma 2 can take the Detection Augment at Rank 2 to get additional audio and visual cues when they're present.
However, it's not totally necessary to collect all 240 Seeker's Tokens in the game before claiming all the rewards. The highest tier on the menu, the Ring of Endeavor, is granted at 220 Seeker's Tokens. Players can easily skip out on the two Seeker's Tokens at the Rose Chateau without any repercussions. There's not even an achievement for collecting all 240 Seeker's Tokens, so there's literally nothing to miss out on.
And if a player really wants to access the third floor of the Rose Chateau for one reason or another, they can also steal a Platinum Myrmecoleon Card from several NPCs in the Vernworth area. Lionel, Albert, and Shakir are all Platinum Card-carrying of the Rose Chateau. Of the three, it's probably easiest to steal the Platinum Card from Shakir, since he's usually hanging out in or around the inn that bears his name. Still, they'll have to pay the 30,000 G fee for any business they conduct on the third floor.
Apart from its importance in the story, the Rose Chateau is basically pointless. Still, if players want to experience romance in Dragon's Dogma 2, it's possible to do so by progressing the quest lines and raising the affinity of Wilhelmina and Ulrika. This isn't always easy (and definitely isn't free), but it's much less expensive and much more rewarding than the waste of 20,000 G that is the Rose Chateau. Once players have completed all the quests there, it's safe to skip this location in Dragon's Dogma 2.
The Sequel to Dragon's Dogma and its expansion, Dark Arisen, Dragon's Dogma 2 is an action-adventure RPG game from the developers at Capcom. Players will create their protagonist, the "Arisen," as they embark on a journey to slay a Dragon that threatens the world. ed by otherworldly beings known as Pawns, the Arisen will utilize melee weapons and spells as they battle against various types of foes.
