Summary

  • Ulrika, an NPC in Dragon's Dogma 2, is a romanceable character with a unique story tied to quests.
  • She can be found in Harve after meeting specific conditions like completing quests and waiting for the village to rebuild.
  • Finding Ulrika is worth the effort as it unlocks more content, rewards, and allows players to explore NPC questlines.

After escaping the excavation site of The Hole, the Arisen will meet Ulrika in the village of Melve. Dragon's Dogma 2 is home to many villages, yet Melve is unique in being the place where everything starts. Here is where the Arisen loses their heart to the Dragon after sacrificing themselves for Ulrika, and where The Warden nurses the player character's wounds. It is also where one receives this information through a flashback, informing them of how their status of becoming the Arisen came to be.

[Warning: The following contains spoilers for Dragon's Dogma 2]

Ulrika is an NPC that is romanceable, with a string of quests which she is tied to: "Readvent of Calamity," "Home Is Where the Hearth Is," and "Trouble on the Cape." Although she resides in Melve, defending its people with her bow, she will eventually leave as the quests progress. It should be noted that her quests can easily be missed, as she has no quest tracker once she vanishes, and "Readvent of Calamity," the quest to start Ulrika's story, will no longer be playable if certain hidden triggers are missed.

On the Run: Ulrika's Escape from Melve

Ulrika helps her people in two dragon attacks; however, the latter attack is caused by a Lesser Dragon and results in equally lesser desolation. Although not his biological child, Lennart, Melve's fighter meister, considers her to be something of a daughter to him and the young archer seems to take after her guardian a great deal, becoming Melve's leader.

Ulrika acts as her village's guardian, aiding in its defense.

If a player continues the "Redavent of Calamity" quest, Ulrika will be accused of treason by a corrupt official. The next morning, the archer will have escaped the village, and Lennart informs Arisen of this. There are no clues as to where she went, nor is there a marker to follow in order to complete the quest. At first, it seems she could be anywhere in Dragon's Dogma's grand world. Strangely enough, however, the route to finding Ulkira again requires a seemingly unrelated questline.

The Lesser Dragon can be killed in Melve, despite being programmed to flee. There is a ballista in the village, atop a tower, which can be used to fell the beast.

Hiding in Harve With Its Scaly Monsters

A New Refuge: Ulrika Seeks Solace in Harve Village

Dragon's Dogma 2 Postgame Drake

After fleeing her home, Ulrika can be found in the village of Harve. It should be noted that she will only come here should a series of caveats are met beforehand. For one, a player must complete the Harve section of the "Monster Culling" quest, venturing into a nearby cave to rescue some soldiers from saurian attackers. Then, the player must partially complete the "Scaly Invaders" quest, defending the seaside settlement from more saurians. Once this is done, the village can begin rebuilding.

Saurians are best defeated by cutting off their tail first, which results in massive damage. The tail can even be picked up and thrown at an enemy afterward, should the need arise.

Ulrika will only come to Harve if it has begun its rebuild. Stormwind Cave, which the saurians came from, will need to be cleared (but that should be done during the "Monster Culling" quest). The Arisen must wait a few days for Harve to adequately reconstruct itself, now featuring shops and an inn, before revisiting to find the archer again. She will be aiding in the defense of the village against another attack from its scaly adversaries. Once the player aids in slaying these foes, they can talk to her, as well as finish the "Scaly Monsters" quest.

Dragon's Dogma 2 Review: "A Wonderful Journey, & A True Novelty"

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is guaranteed to take you on a memorable and immersive adventure, but it’s liable to include a few hiccups along the way.

Why Go Through All This Effort To Find Ulrika?

Why Finding Ulrika Matters

Ulrika saved the Arisen's life, nursing them back to health two times, most notably after the Dragon attack. She clearly cares about the Arisen to aid them to such a degree, and she is one of Dragon's Dogma 2's romanceable options. There is plenty of content surrounding her since she is involved in several quests. With DD2 being as vast as it is, there is plenty to see and do, including exploring the questlines of NPCs, which have been expanded upon compared to their Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen counterparts.

Further quests cannot be completed without setting up events to allow Ulrika to arrive at Harve village. Outside of being able to see some more content, a player will also miss out on rewards, such as more gold, which is always useful, Ferrystones, and enchanted rings. Although requiring some effort to see her again, meeting Ulrika in Harve is well worth that effort, especially for the completionists who want to see everything Dragon's Dogma 2 has to offer.
