Players seeking Lennart in Dragon's Dogma 2 will likely progress the 'Oxcart Courier' quest, one of the earliest missions assigned to you in Vernworth, or return to him for a reward after accepting a quest in Melve. Finding Lennart, whether you've encountered him previously or not, presents notable challenges due to the obscurity of his location.
Players are aware that Lennart resides somewhere within Melve, yet the game provides only a vague quest area highlighted on Dragon's Dogma 2's map, leaving his exact location a mystery. This lack of clarity forces players to either roam the town aimlessly or engage with every NPC in the area in hopes of stumbling across him, especially for those who have yet to meet the swordsman.

How To Start The 'Oxcart Courier' Quest
Speak To Donovan At Vernworth
If you want to pursue the 'Oxcart Courier' quest to find Lennart, head to North Vernworth Oxcart Station, which is not too far outside the Merchant Quarter. As outlined in HarryNinetyFour's walkthrough on YouTube, initiate the quest by speaking with Donovan.
He entrusts you with a letter from Lady Margit, the watchhead's wife, intended for Ser Lennart in Melve. Donovan's concern for his oxcart's safety amidst the dangers lurking outside the significant towns prompts him to request your services as the courier.
Donovan informs you that the oxcarts depart at certain hours of the day, suggesting you can wait at the station for the next departure. A bench allows players to the time, speeding up the process. Additionally, while a fare is typically required for boarding, Donovan generously covers your round-trip expenses to Melve as a gesture for undertaking the delivery mission.
Oxcarts are the closest feature to fast travel aside from Portcrystals in Dragon's Dogma 2. They typically charge a fee of 100 Gold, a meager price for the convenience they offer. Utilize them whenever possible to avoid lengthy treks and frequent encounters with formidable enemies.
Donovan cautions that the journey to Melve might include ambushes or attacks. Fortunately, in Dragon's Dogma 2, all oxcarts are accompanied by escorts of trained soldiers to protect against any monsters encountered en route. To board the cart, pay the fare to Niann, the coachman, take a seat, and select the option to doze off, which fast-forwards your travel time. Your rest will be disrupted by an enemy ambush or upon reaching your destination.
Should you face an attack while on the cart, be cautious. Enemies, your Pawns, and assisting NPCs can destroy it accidentally during combat. Keep a safe distance from the cart when fighting to avoid cutting your journey short and being stranded. If the cart is destroyed, you will need to continue on foot, hoping to encounter another cart along the way to complete your journey.
Reward For Completing 'Oxcart Courier'
Upon successfully delivering the letter to Lennart in Melve, the final step of the quest is to return to Vernworth and report back to Donovan (located in the same place, at the North Vernworth Oxcart Station). Inform him of your completed task so he can finalize the quest and claim your reward.
Donovan will reward you with 5000 Gold and Miner's Hosen, a leg armor in Dragon's Dogma 2 described as 'Work boots that have been refashioned from more durable materials for enhanced protection and a better fit.'

Miner's Hosen, compatible with all player character classes except the Warfarer class in DD2, offers a versatile armor option for many players and their Pawns. Although they can be purchased from merchants for 2450 Gold, acquiring them for free through the 'Oxcart Courier' quest presents a more economical choice.
Selling them yields 800 Gold, providing quick cash if you don't have a use for them. This quest stands out as an excellent early-game mission for players looking to get gold fast in Dragon's Dogma 2.

Where Is Lennart Located?
Lennart Moves Around Melve
Upon reaching Melve in Dragon's Dogma 2, the quest's focal point is locating Lennart to deliver the letter. The map indicates his general vicinity, but his exact location requires some searching. Like all NPCs in Dragon's Dogma 2, Lennart will only be identified by name if you interact with him.
Look for a distinctive figure: a rugged, older man in fur armor and a cape, armed with a sword and shield. His combed-back white hair and unique mustache set him apart from Melve's other inhabitants and soldiers.
Lennart's tendency to roam around Melve adds a challenging layer for players seeking him. He doesn't have a fixed location, but he's often spotted in a few places. Start your search at the stone archway marking the village's entrance.
Other Locations To Find Lennart
If he's not at the village entrance, check Tristan's Inn in Melve's southern area. Lennart's house, directly across from the Inn, is another possible location. Additionally, he's sometimes found at the well in the village's destroyed section, a remnant of the dragon attack.
If you're unfortunate not to encounter him in any of these places, the best course of action is to rest for a day. Upon your return, find Ulrika at her house, situated at the village's highest point, and accept her invitation to stay overnight. The following morning, Lennart will seek you out himself, eliminating the need for tedious further searching.
If this is your first encounter, Lennart will wait to accept the delivery but will propose his quest instead. You don't need to complete his quest to proceed with the delivery; accept it and then speak to him again to move forward.
Lennart's whereabouts in Dragon's Dogma 2 is beneficial, as he offers several rewarding quests, including 'Nesting Troubles' and 'Readvent of Calamity'. After completing the tasks he assigns, return to any of his known spots in Melve to collect your rewards for these quests.
If you've built a good relationship with Lennart and completed the 'Readvent of Calamity' quest, he rewards you with Meister's Teaching, Soldier's Code. This item unlocks the Riotous Fury skill, a boon for players adopting the Fighter Vocation.
