WARNING: Contains Potential Spoilers for ABSOLUTE POWER #4!

A former Justice League hero—has just revealed that she is essentially unkillable, making her the most invulnerable hero in the DC Universe and putting all other healing factors to shame. But that's not her only newly revealed ability; she has also debuted another power that makes her one of the most dangerous characters in the DCU.

Mark Waid and Dan Mora’s Absolute Power #4 concludes the summer crisis event with the DCU heroes emerging victorious over Amanda Waller. The finale is packed with moments ranging from shocking to downright kickass, but one moment stands out as both—Nia “Dreamer” Nal’s return from the “dead” to punch Waller in the face.

Absolute Power #4 Nightwing Waller Dreamer

Fans following the event will Dreamer’s apparent death in an explosion at the Fortress of Solitude in Absolute Power #2, where she sacrificed herself so the other heroes could escape. However, as revealed in issue #4, not everything was as it seemed, and in Nia’s words: “You can’t kill a dream.”

While Nia’s return was undeniably epic, the explanation for how she survived makes it even better. Dreamer confirms that the blast at the Fortress of Solitude did, in fact, tear her apart. However, as she says, “You can’t kill a dream. Not if it’s ed.” She explains that Superboy, Jon Kent, unknowingly pulled her into the Dreamscape by continuing to dream about her, which allowed her to rebuild and heal within his dreams. This ability is arguably one of the most overpowered healing-factor abilities in the DCU, second only to Lobo.

Now that Dreamer s the ranks of nearly unkillable DC heroes, it’s interesting to consider how she could ever be permanently killed. Based on what we know, she can theoretically return from anything, even total annihilation, as long as someone re her. Therefore, the key to killing her wouldn’t just be physical destruction but also erasing her from the minds of those who her. This means that only someone with powers like Martian Manhunter, who could manipulate or erase memories, might have a chance of truly defeating her.

Dreamer is a Naltorian-Human hybrid whose powers include astral projection, precognition, oneiric travel, oneiromancy, and energy construct creation.

Absolute Power #4 Dreamer Erasing Amanda Waller's memories

The revelation of Nia's unique healing ability is far from the only notable power development for the hero. Towards the end of Absolute Power #4, fans witness Waller locked up in solitary confinement, with Dreamer standing on the other side. Waller immediately dismisses her imprisonment, confident she’ll blackmail her way out. In a twist, Nia challenges her to name one piece of information that could be used for blackmail—only for Waller to realize she can’t recall anything of importance. Distressed by this sudden loss, Waller accuses Dreamer of erasing her mind.

However, Nia corrects her, explaining that none of her memories have been erased, but instead, they’ve been "moved." Essentially, Dreamer has given Waller a taste of her own medicine by ‘stealing’ her greatest 'superpower'—her knowledge and blackmail material. While Nia doesn’t specify how or where Waller’s memories were moved, it’s likely they’re locked away somewhere in the Dreamscape. Already armed with precognition, energy constructs, and more, Dreamer’s new abilities—invulnerability and memory manipulation—make her one of the DCU’s most formidable heroes.
