Jason Momoa compares his Blade Runner 2049, fans are understandably anticipative of the movie.

release of the first official images for the project has driven the hype up for the movie, and Momoa is further exciting fans by teasing about what to expect from his character, Duncan Idaho.

In light of the first images for Dune dropping, Momoa appeared at Aquaman actor can't obviously reveal anything deemed a spoiler, but he said that Duncan is reminiscent of Star Wars' beloved scoundrel, Han Solo. He's also giddy about being able to share the screen with Javier Bardem who plays Stilgar - the leader of the Fremen group at Sietch Tabr.

"I get to play this character Duncan Idaho, who's kind of a master swordsman who's made the right hand man to Duke Leto who is Oscar Isaac. He's the first person to be sent out to land on Dune and that's when I meet the character that Javier Bardem plays. I can't believe I had a scene with Javier Bardem! It's a pretty massive film and I get to be this little—he’s kind of the Han Solo-esque of the group. He's this rogue warrior who protects Timothée Chalamet and serves Oscar Isaac.”

As Villeneuve's remake of Dune follows the cult classic one from David Lynch's 1984 take on the sci-fi story, a majority of the characters have been brought to life on the big screen before. Momoa's Duncan was previously played by stage and screen actor Richard Jordan. It's interesting to see how this contemporary approach to the Herbert epic novel will be different from its predecessor other than  the obvious updated technology that's currently at Villeneuve's disposal. Chances are that there will be some variations here and there to offer old fans something new, while also appealing to a new generation of fans.

Known for his big personality, not to mention what he was able to bring to the table as Arthur Curry in the DCEU, fans know that Momoa can bring on the swagger of Star Wars' Han Solo. What's more interesting to see is how his chemistry with all the other actors in Dune would be. With the movie still several months away coronavirus pandemic - something that fans are hopeful for.
