Auroboros: Coils of the Serpent is an campaign from Warchief Gaming. The new sourcebook will feature a number of new subclasses and races compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e. Here's everything to know about the new D&D subclasses and races in Warchief's Auroboros setting.

Created by Chris Metzen, the co-creator of games like Warcraft and Starcraft, Auroboros: Coils of the Serpent is the first tabletop RPG campaign from Metzen's company, Warchief Gaming. A new trailer for Auroboros was revealed by the former Blizzard VP, and it's set to introduce five unique races and four new subclasses into D&D 5e. While most of the races and subclasses haven't been revealed yet (the Kickstarter campaign for Auroboros doesn't even start until April 20th), a few have been confirmed already.

The first subclass will be for rogues, tying them to a vampire cartel. This subclass, called Wraith Blades, will allow them to shapeshift into mist and regenerate. A subclass for fighters, called the Wild Keeper, has also been revealed. Wild Keepers are blessed by animal totems, and they can actually morph parts of their bodies to resemble their animal totem. A new warlock subclass allows them to take on the patron of the Soul Eater, which lets them tattoo their bodies with souls. Once trapped, these souls can be used in various ways. The fourth and final subclass revealed is for monks and is called Way of Eminence. By wielding a sphere of influence, players can generate things like shields and motivate others through suggestion.

Auroboros: Coils of the Serpent - Subclasses & Races Explained

New Dungeons and Dragon Auroboros World From Warcraft Creator

The world of Lawbrand, where Auroboros takes place, has an emphasis on law and order - but it's also an ancient world filled with magic and nature. The D&D subclasses for Auroboros all experiment with that kind of magic and nature in some way.

There will also be five unique races, including the Atsaad. The Atsaad are an aquatic race with tentacle-like hair flowing down their shoulders and back. They look like a pretty interesting people, and more races should be revealed as Auroboros' release date approaches. The campaign itself is based on a D&D homebrew campaign that Metzen ran in the '80s and '90s. It's also teased as being the first campaign in a line of adventures that take place in Lawbrand.

Overall, the new race and subclasses revealed for Auroboros: Coils of the Serpent look pretty amazing. New subclasses in Dungeons & Dragons - whether official or not - are always cause for excitement, and the ones coming from Warchief Gaming's new campaign sound pretty spectucular.
