Screen Rant is proud to exclusively present a behind-the-scenes clip from Realm's new scripted podcast Echo Park, which just premiered its first episode on Harry Shum Jr., who also serves as producer, the crime thriller takes place in an alternate version of Los Angeles where clones run rampant and are called "Echoes."
In the first episode of Echo Park, LAPD civil advisor James (Shum) meets his clone and decides to ask for help in hiding his addiction from superiors at work. Soon enough, however, the echo named Terrance is missing—and several other clones have been found dead. James finds himself in a race against time to learn what happened to his Echo and perhaps even take on his identity to solve the mystery.
In Screen Rant's exclusive behind-the-scenes clip, provided by Realm, Harry Shum Jr. can be seen preparing to voice several roles in Echo Park. itting that he loves doing voices, the actor clarifies that the new crime podcast will require him to do sultry rather than cartoonish voices. While James is in a bind because he cannot camouflage his addiction at work without the help of his clone, he is also moved by the plight happening to the Echoes. As evidenced by his interaction with clone-hating officer Waterford in the recording above, he will have his work cut out for him if he wants the LAPD to take crime against clones seriously.
Furthermore, the clip itself is a fascinating peek into Shum's process as he searches for the right voice to portray each character. Over the course of his career, Harry Shum Jr. has been no stranger to a wide range of roles that require versatility in order to perform. His previous roles include the fun-loving Mike Chang on the musical series Crazy Rich Asians 2 arrives in theaters.
