Eden is part of the line-up of comiXology Originals, titles that launch as digital exclusives, although the science-fiction graphic novel already has a print release date. At first, the comic will only be available digitally on comiXology and Kindle, and readers can either purchase it on those platforms or get it for free if they're a member of Unlimited, Kindle Unlimited, or Amazon Prime. The comiXology Originals line includes comics of all genres and styles, from introducing a new Astonishing Times to a horror comic considered perfect for cinephiles called Night of the Ghoul.
As announced by Reawakening to a dystopian planet on which they are the last survivors (besides the prehistoric creatures who roam the Earth again), the group must decide whether to wake up the rest of the frozen inmates. Anne also struggles to see if together they can create a new, better society or follow in the mistakes of their past. The graphic novel's cover and three preview pages were shared along with the announcement, dropping readers immediately into the beginning of the "escape" of the convicts.
In addition to Arnold, the rest of the creative team has an impressive list of credits. The artist for the series, Riccardo Burchielli, is the co-creator for DMZ, a popular Vertigo title taking place in the near future during the Second American Civil War in the demilitarized island of Manhattan. The colors are done by Luca Salce, a colorist for the animated series Brazen: Rebel Ladies Who Rocked the World, which is based on the Eisner Award-winning graphic novel of the same name. Eden also features letters by Ed Dukeshire (Superfreaks) with editing by Will Dennis (Clear).
The digital version of Eden will be available from Darkling Entertainment, Arnold's indie film and television production company, via comiXology Originals on March 29, 2022. There will then be a physical version available from Dark Horse Comics, the publisher known for Hellboy and Black Hammer, on July 12, 2022.
