Elden Ring has many characters players can complete quests for and summon for assistance in a boss fight or two. However, there are some characters that players may not know they can summon for help, but should definitely try to. Some of these characters may only be encountered through their summon sign, while others have long questlines.
NPC summons is a common feature of Soulsborne games. Many times, these NPCs can be encountered in certain locations and will only move when the player has progressed to a new area. Other times, these NPCs will tell the player they are looking for something or someone, and the player can assist the NPCs. Moving these NPCs along and helping them may be essential to their questline, which many players may want to complete. There is also a chance that players can accidentally kill an Elden Ring NPC.
Elden Ring has several NPCs that can only be summoned when certain steps are taken. Players going through their first few playthroughs of Elden Ring may miss these important steps and not have the chance to summon a certain NPC. Other NPCs can only be summoned when specific choices are made that will drastically alter the game’s storyline.

If players do as they ask and embrace the Frenzied Flame, they will be able to summon Shabriri for Elden Ring's Godfrey, First Elden Lord boss fight.
