The Church of Dragon Communion is a location in Elden Ring found on an island off the southwestern coast of Limgrave. After defeating one of the brutally difficult dragons in the Lands Between, Tarnished can take the Dragon Heart they acquired to this church to receive new powerful Incantations. These dragon-related abilities include Dragonclaw, Dragonfire, and Dragonmaw.
Dragonclaw transforms its caster into a dragon in Elden Ring with razor-sharp claws able to rend enemies into pieces. Those who choose Dragonfire can spew destructive flames upon their foes. Finally, Dragonmaw will grant the ability to channel a devastating bite on an entity in front of the caster. Elden Ring fans may or may not find a use for these spells in their particular character builds, yet there is no doubt that each Incantation sounds and looks incredible to execute. Despite granting so much supernatural power to the player, the Church of Dragon Communion is actually one of the most accessible areas in the early game if Tarnished know how to reach it.
To get to the Church of Dragon Communion, players must first make their way down to the Limgrave shoreline near the Church of Elleh in Elden Ring. Tarnished can find a trail leading down to the beach southwest of the church. A hostile giant will be patrolling the path, yet players shouldn't have too much trouble taking it down, especially with ranged attacks. Alternatively, Tarnished can use Torrent to speed past the giant down to the seafront.
Dragon Church Location Guide For Elden Ring
After arriving at the beach, players must travel south to find the Coastal Cave, a linear cavern that tunnels all the way to the island where the Church of Dragon Communion is located. After entering the grotto, players can rest at a Site of Grace. However, players will soon realize the inhabitants of the cave are not accommodating any visitors. Inside Coastal Cave, Tarnished will encounter an Elden Ring mini-boss called the Demi-Human Chiefs. These feral enemies will have a small army of monkey-like creatures that will follow up the mini-boss attacks with strikes and vicious screams.
The bosses shouldn't be very hard to defeat as long as players make sure they do not become overwhelmed and always have room to dodge-roll. Yet, newcomers who are less confident with their combat skills can summon an NPC to fight alongside the player. After defeating the Demi-Human Chiefs, Tarnished can continue through the cave and arrive at the Church of Dragon Communion. Even if players do not have a Dragon Heart to offer at the altar, it would be wise to activate the island's Site of Grace "bonfire" for easy future access.
