rumored DLC for Elden Ring could introduce gear that could completely change how the game is played on both the PvP and PvE fronts. DLC gear could also add a new level of replayability to the game, with equipment that targets the weaknesses of some of the most challenging bosses.

One type of weapon prominently featured in Elden Ring's predecessor Bloodborne is trick weapons. Bloodborne’s weapons could transform into different variations mid-combat, allowing for interesting attack patterns and strategies. One of its most popular trick weapons, the Whirligig Saw, appears in Elden Ring as Ghiza’s Wheel. Aside from that, Elden Ring only has one notable weapon close to those in Bloodborne, the Mantis Blade, which can extend with heavy attacks. Adding trick weapons will open up many possibilities for PvP in Elden Ring, which will be especially exciting if the DLC unlocks Elden Ring’s colosseums as multiplayer arenas.

Elden Ring DLC could also expand the arsenal of projectile weaponry, making long-range play styles more viable. Bows are currently only semi-useful in the game. It’s possible to beat the game using only these weapons, but players typically treat that approach as a challenge run. Malenia is already tricky enough with the standard fare; doing it with only bows and crossbows is much more challenging. The Jar Cannon is a notably fun weapon, albeit impractical in most situations. Adding similar experimental firearms in the DLC could expand the possibilities for long-range approaches to boss fights.

An Elden Ring Miquella DLC Can Expand Sleep Weapons And Spells

The Sleep status effect in Elden Ring is surprisingly lacking throughout the game. Only a handful of gear inflicts the status effect, the most notable being the Sword of St. Trina and St. Trina’s Torch. In Elden Ring’s lore, St. Trina is quite enigmatic, but several signs point toward St. Trina being the secret identity of Miquella, the Unalloyed. Rumors suggest Miquella may be the central figure in a possible Elden Ring DLC. In his current state, Miquella is slumbering in a cocoon in the Mohgwyn Palace. It’s possible the DLC could take players into his dreamworld, where items with the Sleep status effect could be more prominent.

Expanding the available gear in the Sleep arsenal could open up the potential for entirely new builds. If it proves effective, Sleep builds could overshadow Blood builds as the new overpowered play style in both PvP and PvE. This alone could bring back players who have seen all Elden Ring has to offer.
