A new datamine of Elden Ring DLC hasn't been officially announced by either Bandai Namco or FromSoftware, but the popularity of the game means that most believe that DLC is inevitable, especially considering the high sales figures of Elden Ring across all platforms.

With the exception of the PS3 version of Demon's Souls, all of the FromSoftware Souls games have received DLC in some form or another, which has left many eager for the future of Elden Ring. The DLC has often taken the form of paid expansions, such as The Old Hunters for Bloodborne, but there have been free expansions, like the addition of Remnants & Gauntlets in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Even the PS5 remake of Demon's Souls had pre-order DLC, which was considered controversial at the time, as it gave powerful items that were useful during the early hours of play.

Elden Ring has been out for over six months and the game keeps receiving balance updates in patches, and these updates may have revealed more than FromSoftware intended. As shared by Redditor SonOfHashut (via GamesRadar), multiple dataminers appear to have uncovered evidence of not one, but multiple Elden Ring DLCs. References to files called "DLC01" have been discovered in the latest Elden Ring patch, not only hinting that DLC is in the works, but that multiple DLCs could be on the way.

Is Elden Ring Getting DLC?

Elden RIng: Malenia Blade Of Miquella

The latest Elden Ring patch already hinted at DLC, as there are now references to maps in the game's files that don't currently exist anywhere in the game. Elden Ring is such a big game (both in of its scope and popularity) that it could easily accommodate several expansions, which could add to the game's already massive map, and include even more boss fights and legendary treasures. If there are references to DLC cropping up in the files of Elden Ring, then FromSoftware might be preparing the game for its inclusion.

Elden Ring skipped the summer gaming shows, so the next place it could be revealed is the The Game Awards 2022 in-person event, which would definitely be one of the biggest announcements made during the show. The Elden Ring DLC could launch on the game's first anniversary in 2023, but there's no huge rush to get it out, and it could feasibly come out anytime next year. All of these hints regarding Elden Ring DLC are exciting, as the game could finally be close to achieving its final form, following the many issues and balance changes that have needed fixing since launch.
