As players explore the Lands Between in Elden Ring, they will come across various ruins, most of which contain stairs that descend into the earth where a hidden chamber contains loot. However, players can explore the entirety of the Kingsrealm Ruins without finding the secret location because it is hidden behind an illusion. Finding this elusive spot will earn players a fight with a mini-boss and rewards.
Players will find the Kingsrealm Ruins to the South of the Carian Manor. Unlike some other puzzles in Elden Ring, the ghosts haunting the Kingsrealm Ruins will not assist the player with finding the secret stairs. Players should be cautious as the ruins are filled with roaming wolves and enemy magic s. To find the stairs, head to the Northeastern edge of the abandoned site. Looking closely, you should be able to spot a faint outline of a doorway made of brick on the ground where the stairs should be.

Elden Ring: How to Defeat the Royal Revenant Boss
Once you've found the correct location, you will need to dispel the illusion spell in Elden Ring. You can remove the illusion in Kingsrealm Ruins by simply interacting with it, such as swinging swords to touch the ground. Additionally, players can roll onto the area to remove the illusion and reveal the stairs leading down. Once the age is revealed, descend the stairs to challenge the boss, the 
Royal Revenant.
Before challenging this boss, visit the nearby Site of Grace to heal, found at the Northern Liurnia Lake Shore. The Royal Revenant boss has many limbs and visually appears to be both flesh and android, and it moves quickly around the arena.
This boss will dart around and spit poison. Therefore, you should remain agile and consider using ranged attacks. Using Ashes of War will help make this fight easier. Additionally, this dexterous boss is weak to the Heal spell. Furthermore, you will face two additional Royal Revenants in the Shaded Castle as regular enemies.

Once this mini-boss is defeated, head through a door at the back of the arena to claim the rewards, consisting of 3,100 Runes and the sword 
Frozen Needle. The Frozen Needle is a thrusting sword with an impaling thrust attack that can cause Frost build-up on enemies.
Eventually, the Frost build-up can inflict the status condition Frostbite on opponents, which deals additional damage and lowers their stamina recovery. The Frozen Needle sword can be upgraded using Somber Smithing Stones in Elden Ring, but it cannot be infused with Ashes of War. This thrusting sword works best with Strength and Dexterity builds, and it visually appears to be made of ice.
