Elden Ring departs from FromSoftware's previous game, Dark Souls 3, by abandoning attunement, choosing instead to have players collect unique items to increase the number of Incantations and Sorceries they can equip.
Incantations in Elden Ring are reminiscent of Miracles and Pyromancies from previous FromSoftware games such as Dark Souls. Functionally, they work very similarly to sorceries but use Faith instead of Intelligence. Although Incantations offer many offensive options, they distinguish themselves the most from Sorceries by having the ability to restore health and cure ailments.
Equipping multiple Incantations and Sorceries will require players to increase their Memory Slots. In addition, players must acquire unique items called talismans in Elden Ring, such as the 
Moon of Nokstella. This talisman can be obtained in Nokstella, the Eternal City, and Memory Stones can be found throughout the game in chests, as drops from enemies, and one can be bought from Twin Maiden Husks at 
Roundtable Hold.
How to Get and Use Incantations in Elden Ring
To use Incantations, players will first need to equip a Sacred Seal or similar catalyst. Many types of Seals can be found throughout Elden Ring. Some will offer good base damage, others better scaling, and a special one, the Dragon Communion Seal, can even make Incantations scale with Arcane instead of Faith. Whatever Seal players choose to use is entirely up to their preference and build. Both the Prophet and Confessor starter classes in Elden Ring will start the game with a Sacred Seal, but other classes can acquire one early by buying it from the merchant in Roundtable Hold.
Incantations can be equipped at Sites of Grace, the number of which depends on how much many Memory Slots players have. Incantations will have several stat requirements and can be bought from the following trainers:
Brother Corhyn at Roundtable Hold- D hunter of the Dead at Church of Irith
Gurranq, Beast Clergyman at Bestial Sanctum
Miriel, Pastor of Vows at Church of Vows
As players go through the game, they will be able to obtain a total of eight Prayerbooks that contain even more Incantations for them to learn. However, players cannot use Prayerbooks directly and must instead give them to trainers who will then expand the number of Incantations they have for sale. It may also be important to note that Elden Ring's weather will affect spells efficacy, and as such, when it is raining, fire spells will deal less damage, and lighting damage will be enhanced.
