Farming Runes in Elden Ring will make it much easier to level up. Those struggling during the early stages of the game are able to use this method to harvest Runes as quickly as possible. Runes act as the main form of currency in Elden Ring. From purchasing new weapons, armor, items, to level-ups, Runes are required in order to make your character stronger. Runes can even be invested into individual stats like HP, Stamina, and how much damage the player will do with right or left-hand weapons. Although, every time the player dies, they lose all the Runes they were carrying. Having to track all the way back to the same location where the player died can get exhausting quickly. Fortunately, there is a place to grind for Runes early on.
First, head over to the Third Church of Marika in Limgrave. it might not be available on the map from the jump but it is a location that players can access early. Ignore all enemies and ride the steed to this location. Upon arrival, there will be a lost grace for players to interact with and save. From this location, head to the north into a small river. Go to the right side of this river on the map to find a small portal that will teleport the player to a far-away location. This is where players can begin grinding for Runes.
Teleporting through the portal will bring the player to the Bestial Sanctum in Elden Ring. Make sure to activate the lost grace in this location since it's an area that players will visit a lot. Upon exiting the Bestial Sanctum, there will be a large boss with black wings directly down the flight of stairs. Instead of going near this boss, immediately cut to the left and jump over the barrier. Continue exploring this area until the player finds a small black hooded enemy. Defeating them will reward players with about 1,000 Runes, which at this point in the story, is a game-changer.
Harvesting Runes To Level Up in Elden Ring Fast
These Elden Ring enemies will be easily staggered, so make sure to use a weapon that swings quickly. Any type of Sword or Dagger can work for getting in some close-range damage. There will be several of these enemy types in the area so continue to bring them down to farm more Runes. If the player dies, they'll appear in the lost grace within the Bestial Sanctum.
Just rush back to the location where the player last died in Elden Ring, collect the fallen Runes, and repeat the process. Saving or dying will also reset the spawn rates in the area, bringing this enemy back for more harvesting. Players can earn up to 50,000 Runes within just 20 minutes. This might not make much of a difference for those players in the late game, but the extra buffs those additional levels offer might be what the player needs to win. It's recommended to look into what builds the player would like to create before investing in resource level-ups. For example, Sword-wielders will want to increase their damage while mages will want enhanced dexterity.
Elden Ring is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
