The Mimic Tear Ashes is a Legendary Summon in limitations in Elden Ring. Simply put, all the gear and Stats the player is equipped with will be imbued into the Mimic Tear upon summoning.

The strength of the Mimic Tear Spirit is fully realized in the late game when the Tarnished have discovered all the best gear for their build and optimized their Stat allocation. Likewise, the Legendary Spirit Ash is only obtainable after players gain access to a specific late-game location: Nokron, the Eternal City. This underground metropolis shares the same map as Siofra River. However, the layout and entry points are separate.

To enter Nokron, Eternal City, and retrieve the Mimic Tear Ashes, Elden Ring adventurers must first defeat General Starscourge Radahn, one of the most challenging bosses in the game. Players can confront the General by traveling to the Redmane Castle of southern Caelid in Elden Ring and taking the Sending Gate to the battlefield across the water. While experienced Tarnished may be able to take down Radahn once they've comprehended his mechanics, newer players are highly advised to be at least Level 65 or higher before facing the bloodthirsty General.

After the boss fight with Starscourge Radahn ends, a cutscene will play of the protagonist watching a falling star in the sky. This "star" actually alters the in-game world of Elden Ring, crashing into the ground in East Limgrave and creating a giant crater in southern Mistwood. Players can descend into this sunken hole to reach the Eternal City.

Nokron's location of Mimic Tear Ashes in Elden Ring is in the Night's Sacred Ground. It can be found within a chest sealed behind an Imp Statue barrier. To reach the Night's Sacred Ground, players will need to complete a parkour challenge of traversing south into the ruins from the Ancestral Woods Site of Grace. However, Tarnished in Elden Ring must first cross the long over to the east, guarded by the Mimic Tear boss. To defeat this boss, players are recommended to remove all their gear before entering the arena and re-equip after the Mimic Tear spawns. This strategy makes the fight much more manageable. After vanquishing the boss, they can travel to the Night's Sacred Ground and acquire the Legendary Mimic Tear Ashes.
