Respeccing in Elden Ring takes place within the walls of the Raya Lucaria Academy, specifically in the Grand Library. Once Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, has been subdued, Tarnished can request of her the service of Rebirth. In other words, to respec one's stats in Elden Ring, players must progress through Limgrave, Stormveil Castle, and Liurnia to reach the academy. After gaining access to the Academy Glintstone Key and defeating several challenging adversaries along the way, Tarnished can have Rennala grant them Rebirth in exchange for a rare Key Item called the Larval Tear.
Resembling a silver kidney, the Larval Tear is a living organism that the amber egg held by Rennala requires to birth players anew. Larval Tears are in limited supply throughout the Lands Between and are not easy in Elden Ring to find. Nevertheless, if Tarnished search hard enough, they may be able to gather approximately fourteen of the silver tears during their journey.

One Larval Tear, which is somewhat easy to discover, is located just south of the Raya Lucaria Academy within the subterranean Village of the Albinaurics. Covered by a plateau, the village sits within the bowls of a dark and perilous swamp. Once players make their way to the area's Site of Grace, they can find a Larval Tear on a corpse within the forsaken hamlet's nearby cemetery. Another tear can be found in southern Limgrave, north of the Bridge of Sacrifice. At the Agheel Lake South Site of Grace, players will encounter several Elden Ring enemies nearby.
