The Secrets Hidden Inside Elden Ring's Walking Mausoleums

Walking Mausoleums are known to have a substance looking like congealed skulls wrapped around their four legs. As connected by Reddit Elden Ring’s Perfumers went from saintly to depraved in the game's obscure history, Walking Mausoleums seem to boast their dark secrets for all to see, as the Walking Mausoleums appear covered in the decapitated heads of the Mausoleum Soldiers, which wrap around the Mausoleum like vines. This connection is further emphasized by the fact that the ghostly enemies vanish as soon as the four legs of the Mausoleum are defeated in battle.

Elden Ring Is Actually Full Of Dark Secrets

As shocking, or even silly, as it might seem that the Walking Mausoleums’ skulls belonging to the surrounding soldiers could have been missed for so long, it’s actually not uncommon for FromSoftware games to have so many intricate details. Because Elden Ring is so new, some secrets are only just now being discovered, such as why everybody is eating other in Elden Ring, the tragic backstories behind many characters, and even hidden lore for collectible items in the game. In fact, looking beyond the surface of the game, Elden Ring is actually full of dark secrets that make the game that much richer, albeit sometimes, that much more stomach churning, too.

The trick to discovering more of Elden Ring’s secrets is simply to keep playing. Like previous FromSoftware games, such as the Dark Souls series, Elden Ring is a massive game that requires more than one playthrough to get a grasp of everything going on in its world. Additionally, FromSoftware director Hidetaka Miyazaki collaborated with George R.R. Martin on the stories and setting, ensuring that there will be much more to be discovered as more time es and more engage with Elden Ring. While the Walking Mausoleums have quite the terrifying secret, Elden Ring is sure to be hosting much darker, much scarier secrets somewhere in The Lands Between.
