Netflix's newest hit created by Darren Star of Sex and the City fame has made waves on social media. Although the reviews are mixed, there’s no denying that the series has plenty of heart and is a fun watch.

Since the series is short enough to finish in a day's binge, audiences have been left wanting more. There might not be more Emily in Paris (yet), but there is plenty of other similar series for fans to watch next.

The Bold Type

Freeform hit gold when it premiered The Bold Type, which followed three young women as they navigated their careers at fictional magazine Scarlet, as well as their romantic endeavors.

Although the series made an impressive decline in quality in its fourth season, there’s plenty of charm and organic character development in the first three seasons to hook in viewers who enjoyed Emily. The Bold Type is currently streaming on Hulu.

Bunheads

Bunheads

Created by Gilmore Girls mastermind Amy Sherman-Palladino, Bunheads aired for a single solitary season on ABC Family (before its rebrand as Freeform) before it was canceled. It follows the life of Michelle Simms, a Vegas showgirl who gets married one chaotic night and moves to her new husband’s sleepy small town.

There’s a distinct fish-out-of-water vibe to Bunheads that might appeal to fans of Emily in Paris, and it has the same off-beat yet magical vibe that the Netflix series has. Bunheads can be found on Hulu.

New Girl

Nick and Jess kiss

For audiences that appreciate the humorous side of Emily, New Girl might be the next best thing. New Girl follows Jess Day as she moves into the same apartment with three other guys, and they all have to adjust to life (and the shenanigans they get into) with each other.

Adding to that, anyone who adores Emily's wonderfully zany fashion sense could also find appreciation for Jess's adorable wardrobe that was trendsetting at the time it aired. New Girl currently streams on Netflix.

Pretty Little Liars

A good taste-breaker from light comedy-drama would be ABC Family's hit series Pretty Little Liars, based somewhat loosely on the popular book series by Sara Shepard. The mystery thriller was known for all of its twists and turns, dubious relationships and morals, and fashion.

The series followed Spencer Hastings, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin, and Aria Montgomery as an anonymous stalker blackmailed and manipulated each girl with the threat of revealing some of their darkest secrets. It’s currently on HBO Max.

The Carrie Diaries

Carrie and Sebastian have a discussion in The Carrie Diaries

Of course, fans were quick to draw comparisons to Sex and the City while watching Emily in Paris, but what about the short-lived yet beloved prequel “The Carrie Diaries”? The series followed a young Carrie Bradshaw as she juggled high school, romance, family, and friends while falling deeply in love with New York City as she takes an internship in fashion.

Due to the premise, there’s plenty of similarities to be found between the two shows, and if audiences loved Emily Cooper’s chipper personality and quirky fashion sense, they’ll easily fall in love with the young Carrie Bradshaw. The series can currently be found (for free!) on the CW Seed.

Love Life

Anna Kendrick

For audiences who preferred the romantic storylines on Emily in Paris, the new anthology series Love Life might be the next best binge watch. The premise of the series is to follow characters throughout their romantic journeys and featured Pitch Perfect alumni Anna Kendrick in its first season.

The series was recently renewed for another season, making this the perfect time to catch up. The contemporary setting and romance promises plenty of charm and is available on HBO Max.

Selfie

This romantic-comedy series held a lot of promise while it was airing on ABC, but was unfortunately canceled after just one season. It followed Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan) and Henry Higgs (John Cho) as they partnered up to help Eliza shake up her image and become a more genuine person.

There’s a lot to love about the series, from the humor to the fashion, to the wonderful chemistry between Eliza and Henry, however, it is unfortunately not currently available anywhere to stream — but perhaps someday a service will pick it up to stream again.

Young and Hungry

Emily Osment as Gabi in Young & Hungry

Another sitcom with a focus on romance, Young and Hungry followed Gabi Diamond and Josh Kaminski as they navigated their complicated feelings for each other. Gabi’s lovable, upbeat personality mixed with her ambition to progress in her career might resonate with fans of Emily in Paris. The series can be found on Netflix to watch.

Katy Keene

A more recent show to watch would be Katy Keene, the short-lived but fun Riverdale spin-off following titular character Katy Keene (Lucy Hale), Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), and their friends as they followed their dreams in a romanticized New York City.

Unfortunately, the series was cut short and canceled after its first season wrapped up but can be found on HBO Max to stream. There’s a lot to love, from Katy’s adorable outfits to the show’s fairytale-esque approach to life.

Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls - Lorelai and Rory

The pop-culture referencing, fast-talking and coffee addicted comedy-drama is now a pop-culture staple. Gilmore Girls, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, follows Lorelai Gilmore as she raises her young daughter Rory in the idealistic small-town Stars Hollow.

Gilmore Girls has a warm yet quirky vibe to it that is sure to appeal to viewers of Emily in Paris. There are even more similarities if audiences view the series through Rory’s personal lens, as she enters and learns all about the prestige high society life her grandparents lead. It currently can be found on Netflix.
