Abuelo Pedro

26 Years Old

The patriarch of the magical Madrigal family, Abuelo Pedro, who might secretly actually be the Casita, met Abuela Alma at the Day of the Little Candles holiday celebration. The two immediately hit it off, got married, and had triplets. Unfortunately, the conquerors attacked their village, forcing the residents to flee and Pedro to sacrifice himself to save his family. Very little is known or shown about Pedro in the animated movie, but his death did play into the story in significant ways.

According to Bush (via Abuelo Pedro's death in Encanto, he was the exact age as Sebastían Yatra was when he recorded "Dos Oruguitas." The Colombian singer performed the nostalgic song that played as the romance of Abuela Alma, and Abuelo Pedro was narrated through flashbacks. Born in 1994, Yatra was only 26 when he collaborated with Encanto creators, making Abuelo Pedro 26 when he died.

Abuela Alma

75-76 Years Old

Although she has no powers of her own, Abuela Alma is why the Madrigals were blessed with the miracle. Her candle gained magical abilities 50 years before Encanto’s story began. While the Disney movie’s timeline was purposely kept vague, Alma had overseen the community relying on her family over the past five decades, keeping the magic alive and the gifts of her children and grandchildren existing. This also made her a slight villain, as she fought so hard to keep the magic that she pushed some family away.

So, assuming Abuela was almost the same age as her late husband during the Encanto time period, she would then be 75 or 76 years old during the film's events. Voice actor María Cecilia Botero was 66 years old at the time of Encanto's release. This plays out about right when looking at the other characters in the animated movie, as she is the matriarch of the family and remains the elder of the entire Madrigals family unit.

Julieta

Much like many of the older characters other than Abuela, Julieta doesn't play a huge role in the Encanto storyline. She is mostly there to care for her three daughters, Isabela, Luisa, and Mirabel. She is also shown to be caring and loving of Mirabela, even knowing that her youngest daughter might not have any powers and, therefore, would be a disappointment to her own mother, Abuela. Agustín

Mid-To-Late 40s

Although Agustín’s age is not explicitly stated in the Colombian-influenced movie Encanto, it was revealed (via X) that he is a little younger than Julieta and her siblings, making his age likely to be in the mid-to-late 40s. This is further ed by his clumsy and accident-prone nature, which is how he and Julieta eventually became a couple. Because he only married into the family, Agustín is not gifted with magical abilities.

Isabela

As the eldest Madrigal grandchild, Isabela has always felt the pressure to be the perfect, beautiful child. Her power to grow flowers and plants takes a turn towards the end of Encanto when she finally learns to accept her true, imperfect self. While this is Mirabel's story, it is Isabela who almost grows into the antagonist in the movie as she fights so hard to be what she thinks her family and society expect her to be, rather than accept her true nature and be a good sister instead in the end.

One of Mirabel's biggest tasks in the movie is to help her older sister understand this, although there is also the sibling rivalry that threatens to tear them apart even more, as well as to tear their entire family and home apart — literally in the case of their magical home. During the movie’s events, she is 21 years old, an age that plays well with her discovering herself after years of teenage pressure. Voice actor Diane Guerrero was quite a bit older than her character at 34 years old.

Luisa

19 Years Old

With her super-strength, Luisa, introduced by the song “Surface Pressure,” is the village’s resident runner, lifting bridges, adjusting houses, and doing chores without breaking a sweat. As a quintessential middle child, the sister keeps a physically and emotionally resilient facade to please her family. Sadly, she also harbors anxieties about not meeting the expectations of her village. Out of the two older sisters, Luisa is also closer to Mirabel when it comes to sisterly love, but is still apt to keep to herself.

Luisa is 19 years old in Encanto, which makes her the perfect age to be coming into her own. She spent years doing nothing but helping her family and the town with their problems as a teenager, and she never really took the time to think about and care for herself. Pepa is also the mother of Dolores, Camilo, and Antonio, and her personality shows through her kids as well, as her own emotional issues manifest themselves in her kids' powers and difficulties adjusting as well. As the middle child, her kids are all about the same age as Julieta's kids as well, and since they all live close-by, it creates a cluster of teens and young adults with powers and problems of their own. Married to Félix, Pepa is 50 years old, while her voice actor, Carolina Gaitán, was 37 years old.

Félix

Early-To-Mid 50s

Like Agustín, Félix also does not possess supernatural gifts since he married into the Madrigal family. Still, his relaxed attitude from his more advanced age makes him a perfect fit for the emotional and intense Pepa. Dolores
