Enola Holmes starred in her first movie in 2020 and is now back with a new case in a sequel simply titled Enola Holmes 2. Now a detective-for-hire, Enola (Millie Bobby Brown) opens her own agency, but she quickly realizes that it’s not as easy as it seems. As she’s about to close, a penniless matchstick girl offers Enola her first official job as she’s looking for her sister– however, the case turns out to be more puzzling than expected, leading Enola to forces with Sherlock (Henry Cavill) as he discovers their cases are connected. Enola Holmes 2 also saw the return of Eudoria Holmes (Helena Bonham Carter), Enola’s mother, but her brief appearance didn’t solve the mystery around her that the first movie left.
What We Know About Eudoria Holmes' Secret Organization
As seen in Enola Holmes, Eudoria disappeared on Enola’s 16th birthday, but she left various clues that led the youngest Holmes to hidden money. This prompted Enola to investigate further and find where her mother was, which marked the beginning of her career as a detective as she also came across Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) and the mystery of who was trying to kill him. The clues left by Eudoria led Enola to discover that her mother is part of the Holy Trinity, a radical group of suffragettes with whom Eudoria had been building explosives, making plans to fight for women’s rights in extreme ways, and more.
Eudoria made a brief appearance at the end of Enola Holmes, where she apologized to her daughter for leaving so suddenly, but she still couldn’t tell her where she was going. Eudoria left again, but her return in Enola Holmes 2 didn’t answer any of the questions left by the first movie, and instead, it made the mystery even bigger. Eudoria returned when Sherlock asked Edith (Susie Wokoma) for help after Enola was arrested, and they helped the young detective escape. Eudoria shared some words of wisdom and encouragement with Enola, but there was no time for them to catch up as they were being chased, and in the end, Eudoria left her daughter again.
Why Eudoria Has Such A Small Role In Enola Holmes 2
After helping Enola escape and ensuring she was safe, Eudoria left without explanation, but she returned at the world of Enola Holmes, so she might not have a big role in potential sequels, which in turn means the mysteries about her will continue.
