An official poster has been released alongside the first trailer for Marvel's the new Eternals movie poster only s the idea that audiences will soon be shown the very first chronological chapter of the MCU in its earliest days.

The new Eternals trailer keeps its focus largely on debuting the Eternals themselves, featuring an introduction as to who they are by the group's spiritual leader Ajak (played by Salma Hayak): "We have watched and guided, we have helped them progress and seen them accomplish wonders." She also goes on to say that it's only now that the Eternals have decided to interfere and take direct action, explaining why they haven't been seen in the MCU prior to this film. This makes a certain amount of sense, seeing as how Marvel Comics typically has the Eternals working behind the scenes, though there have been notable exceptions where select Eternals have ed forces with Marvel's other heroes. In any case, the Eternals' longevity also made them the inspiration for many of man's gods and mythic heroes: Icarus, Athena, and Hephaestus from Greek mythology were all based on the Eternals Ikaris, Thena, and Phastos within the MCU.

Likewise, the first official poster for Marvel's Eternals further confirms that the immortal status of these characters will create the opportunity for Marvel fans to see how the MCU progressed throughout history. The poster comes with the telling tagline: "In The Beginning...," a reference to the first line in the Bible in the first book of Genesis, which detailed God's creation of the world and man to live within it. Given the context of this new film, it seems pretty evident that Eternals will be serving as the MCU's Genesis, the first chronological chapter in the MCU timeline.

Eternals Poster 1

It's going to be really interesting to see how the Eternals have shaped the course of history and helped mold the MCU into what it is in the present day. The trailer sees them meeting with early tribes of man and giving them tools, defending ancient locales such as the city of Babylon, saving innocents during a medieval attack, and more. Furthermore, now that they're presumedly going to be much more involved going forward with this film, how will the Eternals affect the MCU's future?

Without a doubt, seeing the beginning of the MCU with the Eternals is going to be just as interesting as witnessing what comes next, and it's very likely that the film in its entirety will be like nothing audiences have seen before in Marvel movies. Marvel's Eternals look ready to feature one of the most dynamic and influential groups of heroes when it releases this November from Marvel Studios (and yet they've been here since the beginning).
