Euphoria follows an ensemble cast of teenagers as they deal with the various difficult elements of growing up in such a dangerous world, such as drugs, sex, violence, mental health, love, and addiction. ing Demie in the series' talented young cast are the likes of Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, and Algee Smith. Some of the recent episodes have become explosive amongst fans after Sweeney's character, Cassie, slept with Nate Jacobs, the abusive ex-boyfriend of her best friend, Maddy, leading the teen to target Nate's family, including his elusive father Cal.
In an interview with sex tape of Jules and Cal that she stole. Specifically, the actress explained that there was a scene originally planned where Maddy gives Jules that tape via an anonymous letter as she would probably want to have it, potentially adding a nice moment for the two. Throughout the rest of the interview, Demie spoke about where Maddy would be moving forward and her next potential journey. Read her comments below:
There was a moment where I was gonna give the tape to Jules with a letter saying, "I think you'd want this," and not say who was giving it to her, but give it back to her, which felt really nice for me. And there was a part of me that really wanted to see that happen, but I think the way it goes down keeps the story going, and it's drama.
Whilst many fans have fallen in love with the type of world Levinson intends to portray, there have been complaints in the past, particularly about the character's relationships with one another on Euphoria. While it truly is an ensemble piece, there are characters that would rarely interact with each other and barely have an onscreen relationship, despite minor mentions. Jules is a major victim of this, mainly only interacting with Rue and having a fleeting friendship with Kat, leading many fans to wish she had a bigger connection to the other cast.
With this revelation of such a scene being cut, it can only be assumed that the series will continue to avoid Jules having any strong connection with anyone other than Rue or Kat, besides her odd relationship with Nate. Even the actress herself itted that she believed it would have been a nice moment for Maddy, potentially furthering her character development and showcasing more of her softer side that fans love. Euphoria season 2 continues with its penultimate episode on Sunday, February 20.
