EVERCORE Heroes is a recently announced competitive PvE MOBA game, featuring a diverse cast of powerful heroes competing to take down an epic boss and save the world. Like many games of the genre, EVERCORE Heroes, developed by Riot and Blizzard veterans, is already showing off a wide array of characters, each with their own unique personalities and abilities. While not too much of the game has been revealed overall, it seems as if one of the major selling points will be the characters, each filling a specific role in the overall design of the game.
Unlike other MOBAs, like League of Legends or DOTA 2, EVERCORE Heroes does not feature any directly confrontational combat with the other team. Instead, four teams of four heroes will have to fight a legion of monsters, power up their abilities, charge their Evercore, and take on a fearsome boss to claim victory. Gameplay will include the usual MOBA elements and will also feature elements similar to Action RPGs and MMOs. This combination lends itself perfectly to the idea of the game and already appears to be a strong contender for the next big MOBA, especially with the characters it has revealed thus far.
So far, EVERCORE Heroes has revealed eight playable characters, the perfect amount to make two teams, each without repeating a character. While not much is known about each character individually, their names, and a little about their role in the game and story have been revealed, showing off some core MOBA elements like s, Tanks and DPS. Also, the trailer revealed some more about character dynamics, and what they can do ability-wise in the game. Currently, the announced characters are Lotus, Beko, Cynder, Zari, Shade, Remy, Fyn, and Blink.
EVERCORE Heroes' Playable Characters - What We Know So Far
In EVERCORE Heroes official cinematic trailer, characters Beko, Zari, Shade and Fyn were shown off in a little more detail. Here are some of the first looks at the characters shown so far:
- Shade: Shade is a master assassin, and seems to be a melee-DPS from what was shown in the trailer. She seems to specialize in dealing burst damage, and quick mobility.
- Fyn: Fyn is a man claiming to be a hero from ancient legends, wielding a large shield to protect allies. His kit seems to focus on being a defensive Tank for his team, shielding others from harm.
- Zari: Zari is the creator of Solar-Bow Archery teaching this style to legions of Hydris’ most adept warriors. Her kit seems to set her as a ranged DPS, similar to the classic bow seen in many MOBA games.
- Beko: The mysterious Beko is secretly an ancient spirit of rejuvenation. Their abilities primarily concern healing over time effects, putting them into the role.
- Blink: Blink is a character who focuses on punching rather than chatting, similar to Arcane's Vi. Blink's abilities can pull and stun enemies, pushing her more in the direction of a Tank character.
- Remy: Remy is a character who uses cutting-edge technology to help his allies. His speed and intelligence combined make him a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.
- Lotus: Lotus, though on a noble quest to heal the world, abandoned her position as next in line to the throne. She seems to be a versatile combat healer who can stick in the frontlines while still providing .
- Cynder: Players can find Cynder in Noktra’s legendary underground club, the Blue Ember. Cynder seems to be a Mage-like character, launching large abilities to shut down groups of enemies.
Although EVERCORE Heroes isn't slated to be released any time soon, the brief information revealed about each hero has led to a lot of hype and excitement around the game. The character designs are wonderful, and the play-styles seem to be very diverse so far, letting each character fit into an individual niche. If EVERCORE Heroes continues to release characters like the first eight, the game has a good chance of competing with the best MOBAs.
