In Deathloop, players have to tackle armies of enemies, the powerful and deadly Julianna Blake, and numerous locked doors and safes. The good news is every code and combination is accessible with Colt's Hackamajig and a bit of detective work. The not-so-good news is that all the codes and their locations are randomized, so there's no master list available.

Deathloop offers rewarding gameplay with its high stakes, fun characters, and gameplay. While solving all the puzzles to find the codes takes some work, players can reap many rewards behind these mysteries as Colt learns about Blackreef, the Visionaries, and his connection to Julianna. Each secret discovered by solving the puzzles is one step closer to powerful trinkets, story lore, and a thrilling finish in the race against time.

Each Blackreef district has its own secret locations and safes, and since the codes are randomized, it would be best to try to recover as many codes in one district before hopping to another. However, since players have free rein over the order of Visionaries they assassinate, the path between districts is up to the imagination.

Island-Wide Codes

Deathloop Starting Island House

Tunnel Door Code

The first lock presented Colt is the one on the tunnel door. Thankfully, this is a story-related lock, so it's an easy one to discover. Just follow Julianna's instructions and Colt will be back on the beach where the "new" day always begins with access to the Hackamajig and the door code.

Gideon's Delivery Terminal

The code to Gideon Fry's Delivery Terminal allows Colt to deliver items to different terminals in each of the Blackreef districts in Deathloop. To find this code, head to Fristad Rock around noon when Fia is in the area. She can be found in a bunker with a front entrance on the south end of Fristad Rock and a back entrance on the east end near the Transmission Tower. Head to the back entrance and find a small room with a side window that can be broken and climbed into. The code is on the whiteboard, and it won't be available in discoveries until it is used on a terminal.

Updaam Doors & Safes

Deathloop's Updaam Library, where the words "Not A Safe Place" appear superimposed to Colt.

Colt's Safe

The next closest lock is Colt's safe, which is discovered during the tutorial, but the location of the code is actually in Fristad Rock. Head to the AEON security office in the morning and hack the door through the adjacent window. Locate the empty hole where the safe used to be to find a note with the code to Colt's safe.

Gate Code

In Deathloop's Updaam, there is an alley leading down to a stairway where a large gate can be found under an archway towards The Moxie. Read the note on the gate and climb up to the balcony to hack the telephone booth nearest the gate to open it, creating a shortcut between the tunnels of Blackreef.

The Pact of Smoke Door

A short stairway can be found opposite Colt's apartment window entrance which leads to a room with a hookah-like device and a door with three codes, and unlocking this door at least two loops. Inside the room, there will be a note that contains Cassandra's code and another that details the plot to kill the Eternalists with the other two codes. To acquire the codes, be sure to save one of the two Eternalists when pressing the smoke dispenser button. Tap once to save Vanya and twice to save Anatoly, but each event requires spending a day on each scenario. When an Eternalist is spared, their home in Karl's Bay becomes available to grab each of their codes. Proceed up the street through the Gardens of Perception to find Vanya's blue house on the right. Next, trot down the lower main street until ing The Treasure of the Ice, and Anatoly's blue house will be the last on the left.

The Safe Below Dorsey Manor

In the plaza leading towards Dorsey Manor in Deathloop, there are large caves that Colt can enter on either side and find a safe with three locks. Near the safe, a map of Updaam can be found, and it's marked with triangles on and next to the map. The notes nearby will reveal six locations where numbers are scribbled on the wall.

  • Pillar near the Archive's Gate (A)
  • Above plague at Library front entrance (L)
  • Above sealed garage door at Charlie's Mansion (only available at noon) (C)
  • On the cliffside archway past The Moxie (M)
  • Next to another plaque below Colt's flat opposite the Dorsey Manor entrance (D)
  • Doorway next to Otto's Firework Shop (O)

Head back to the safe, where the answer key can be found on the right side of the map. Align the three triangles with the points found in each number in order of how many lines are at each spot. The correct formations should be ALC, OML, and DLC.

Library Safe

Around noon, a safe can be found in the middle of the floor in the Updaam library. Luckily, this safe is needed for a storyline mission so players can wait to open this safe when it's time to take out Wenjie. The code can be found in Aleksis' room with the computer terminal in his mansion on a note from Julianna.

Cliffside Safe

On the cliffs towards The Moxie, a safe is available, but it needs a wheel crank instead a code. Players have two choices to get one, wait until noon and sneak into Charlie's mansion, or request one from Gideon's Delivery Terminal. For the former, creep towards the back of the mansion and head through a small tunnel to a backroom with a Class door, where a wheel crank lies on the floor. Head back to the cliffs and use the crank to grab the goods.

The Complex Doors & Safes

Deathloop The Complex

Wenjie's Depressurization Controls

Setting off the lab alarm will lock the doors and kill Colt. To avoid this fate, head to the blue annex building next to the lab and find the code on a whiteboard inside. Next, head for the security terminal in the red building on the other side of the annex. Check the terminal and switch the controls to manual with the code. Unfortunately, this code resets during each loop, so this needs to be repeated each time Colt has to enter the lab.

Wenjie's Private Quarters

Sticking with Wenjie, her private quarters are located at the bottom of the blue annex. To find this code, wait until the Queen of Riddles mission in Deathloop and follow the guidelines to locate the note inside the safe in The Yerhva riddle house.

Loop Control Center Safe

This safe can be found downstairs and just outside the power plant. This safe also needs a wheel crank instead of a code. There are again two ways to get one, either waiting until morning and finding one in Wenjie's Lab next to a note or ordering one from Gideon's Delivery Terminal.

RAK Facility Microphone Door

Begin the Radio Silence mission, fighting through to Deathloop's Power Station. The mission leads to the Archives in the afternoon when Colt can slide through the shutters and march up to the second floor where a note can be found on the bookshelf in the Archive Office. This code is an audio and is randomized per individual playthrough, but it opens a sealed and mysterious door in the RAK Facility Bunker along the cliffs below the Archives. Use the code to gain access to the codes that operate the Power Generators on a document next to a second locked door.

Second Door inside RAK Facility

Continuing the Radio Silence mission will lead Colt to the three codes necessary to open this locked door inside the RAK Facility.

Ordnance Depot Door

There is a locked door leading to a battery-operated turret that requires a battery to open. Head down to the lower level of the depot and grab a battery in the water-filled room. Follow the hall to a locked door and use the battery to open it to find a note with a code to the locked turret door.

Fristad Rock Doors & Safes

Deathloop Frisad Rock Expand Your Mind

Frank's Security Controls

Finding this code allows Colt to by all the security measures inside Visionary Frank's club in Deathloop, The Ramblin' Rock Club. Grab a Class outside the club and travel to Updaam at noon. Sneak into Charlie's mansion and find a Class door in a tunnel in the back of the house. Inside, grab the note with the code to Frank's security control and head back to The Ramblin' Rock Club. Climb to the roof to find a cave along the cliffs on the other side of the club where the security control can be found and hacked.

Cave Bar Safe

In a cave next to the entrance of The Ramblin' Rock Club is a safe behind the makeshift bar that needs a Wheel Crank to get it open. If the other wheel cranks have been found and used, the best bet here is to use Gideon's Delivery Terminal.

Spy Room

The Spy Room in Deathloop's Fristad Rock requires some traveling, but it starts by hacking any radio signal in the morning. When hacked, the radio will announce three codes, all starting with a letter and number combo followed by an isolated number. The combo tells players where to find the code and the isolated number, which is randomized, is the number of times the doorbell at that location needs to be rung.

The three locations and the letter-number combos are:

  • M13: Karl's Bay, the red building to the left of the hangars and behind the giant BBQ.
  • R33: Fristad Rock, in the boarded-up bunker near the tunnel entrance.
  • H26: Updaam, in the apartment hallway to the left of Otto's Fireworks Shop in the morning only.

It's recommended that players go to the locations in the randomized order they were announced, but any path can be chosen.

Karl's Bay Doors & Safes

Deathloop Karls Bay

Mask Maker Amador's Door

Inside Deathloop's Mask Maker shop is a locked door with a note nearby detailing Harriet's planned ritual sacrifice of mask maker Amador. To get this door open, stop Harriet's ritual in the morning and save Amador by any means necessary. Later in the day, Amador will be in his shop and the door will be open.

Yerhva Queen of Riddles Safe

Travel to Fristad Rock in the afternoon and find the crashed plane in the ocean to the south, near Fia and Charlie's secret meeting place. On the shoreline, there is a hidden bunker with a note lying in front of a console. Take the code back to The Yerhva riddle house to open the safe, which also has the code of Wenjie's Private Quarters.

Hangar 1 Closet Door

To open the locked door inside Hangar 1 near Harriet's mansion, head to the bridge between Hangar 1 and Hangar 2 on the upper walkway in the morning to access Hangar 2. On the opposite of Hangar 2's upper walkways is the note for the code to the storage door.

To tell them apart, Hangar 1 is the hangar that is already open.

Boatsman's Safe

This safe waits inside a small workshop down a stony path near a Horizon Bunker entrance on Karl's Bay shoreline in Deathloop and requires a time rewind as the code is available at night while the safe is unlockable in the morning. Travel to Fristad Rock and find the back entrance to Fia's fortress near Transmission Tower. A crashed boat can be found in the water that contains a note inside an open safe. Rewind to the morning and back to the Karl's Bay workshop to open the safe.

Otto's Fireworks Container Crate

This crate can be found early on in Karl's Bay, but the code can be found in the morning in Updaam. Players need to prevent Otto's fireworks workshop from burning down which saves his terminal. Read the terminal inside the workshop to grab the code for the crate.
