The Xbox announcements for Project xCloud at X019 were massive, and none were bigger than the one that revealed over 50 games were coming to the preview experience on that streaming service over the next year. Project xCloud remains one of Xbox's most ambitious endeavors, a project that could totally reshape the way that Microsoft brings games to consumers and widen the breadth of people who are able to experience cutting edge technological breakthroughs in current-generation games.

Project xCloud might have some stiff competition in Google Stadia, although that's looking increasingly more unlikely after a disastrous few months of campaigning for the latter that culminated in one of the Xbox addressed the future of Project xCloud at length during X019, and what consumers heard was very promising.

Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice gameplay

Of the newly announced titles, there are some real standouts that could help players get a grasp of just how smoothly Project xCloud runs. Games like Forza Horizon 4, for instance, will put the graphical prowess of the streaming service to the test and see if it can smoothly broadcast intensive games with ease. There are also some exciting options just for the ability to experience them on mobile, like Hellblade and WWE 2K20, even though the latter's reception has been so poor most players will likely be giving it a try just to have a laugh.

The extensive for Project xCloud coming from Microsoft is indicative of how strongly the company feels that it will be a major element of its future services. With Xbox Scarlett on the horizon and Xbox Game continuing to receive major , it looks like Project xCloud will similarly remain a key fixture in Xbox's plans for 2020 and beyond.
