The setlist for the Pokémon GO Professor Willow TCG card. After months of anticipation, the Pokémon GO TCG set is finally releasing in July and will feature Radiant Pokémon, VMAX, and VSTAR cards.

When Pokémon GO was originally launched in 2016, it quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. The mobile game brought the Pokémon franchise to the real world, as players were able to travel outside and catch their favorite Pokémon in the wild. To celebrate its fifth anniversary, Niantic is teaming up with The Pokémon Company to release the Pokémon GO TCG expansion on Friday, July 1st.

The special TCG set includes many iconic callbacks to the mobile game, such as the new Pokémon GO TCG Ditto cards which feature peelable artwork. Just like the game, players will have to discover Ditto's disguises by finding special Pokémon cards with sticker artwork that is hiding the Kanto Shape-shifter underneath. The Summer TCG release will feature an additional 101 cards including Ultra Rare, Secret Rare, and rare promo cards. Below is a complete breakdown of the Pokémon GO TCG setlist.

The Pokémon GO TCG Expansion's Promo Cards

Every Pokemon GO Card In The New TCG Expansion Promo Cards

Unlike other Pokémon Sword and Shield TCG sets, the Pokémon GO TCG release isn't technically considered a full expansion and is instead a special set similar to 2021's Shining Fates. Players wanting to get their hands on the crossover collaboration will have to buy special bundled Pokémon card products as the Pokémon GO TCG will not have individual booster packs for sale. Because of this, the July TCG set has thirteen promo cards that players can collect.

The are many popular Pokémon featured in the Pokémon GO TCG promo setlist, such as Kanto Legendary Mewtwo, and even Gen 1 Starters Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. Collectors looking to score the rare Pokémon GO TCG Radiant Eevee card will have to purchase the Pokémon GO Collection, as the Normal-type is bundled in with the boxset. Below is a list of every Pokémon GO TCG promo card.

  • Professor's Research (Professor Willow)
  • Mewtwo V
  • Melmetal V
  • Alolan Exeggcutor V
  • Spark: Trainer Card
  • Blanche: Trainer Card
  • Candela: Trainer Card
  • Mewtwo V: Full Art
  • Radiant Eevee
  • Bulbasaur (Pokémon GO Gift)
  • Charmander (Pokémon GO Gift)
  • Squirtle (Pokémon GO Gift)
  • Pikachu (Pokémon GO Gift)

Just like the release of Pokémon GO in 2016, the TCG crossover largely features Pokémon from the Gen 1 Pokémon Red and Blue Kanto RPGs. Although there haven't been any announcements, The Pokémon Company hasn't ruled out any additional Pokémon GO TCG sets in the future that focus on other Generations. In Pokémon GO, Niantic staggered the release of new Gen Pokémon through various seasons. So if the TCG and Pokémon GO were to ever collaborate again, it would make sense if the next set featured Gen 2 Johto Pokémon from 2000's Pokémon Gold and Silver.

The next TCG set to release after the Pokémon GO crossover is the Lost Origin expansion, which was accidentally leaked early on the Pokémon Center store. The Pokémon Company confirmed the rumored Sword and Shield set on June 23 and announced that the Pokémon Lost Origin TCG expansion will be releasing on Friday, September 9th.

Lost Origin will be the eleventh main expansion of the Pokémon Sword and Shield TCG series, and will be the fourth Pokémon card release of 2022. The Autumn set will feature the debut of Legendaries Kyurem and Giratina as VSTAR cards, and will also bring back the "Lost Zone" Pokémon Trading Card Game mechanic which hasn't been seen since 2018.
