Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, like the previous two films in the Ant-Man franchise, makes terrific use of popular songs to elevate the film's tone and themes. Quantumania becomes just the latest in a long line of Marvel Cinematic Universe films to tie its central conceit into popular music, with Thor: Love and Thunder and the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise acting as noteworthy examples of this increasingly popular trend. While Quantumania may not have as many needle drops as certain other MCU films in recent memory, it makes what few it does have truly count, weaving together a memorable soundtrack.

Jonathan Majors's immensely powerful Kang the Conquerer makes his MCU debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, kicking off Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a bang. As the Multiverse Saga begins to heat up in anticipation of its epic two-part finale, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, in 2025 and 2026, respectively, Quantumania functions as an important chapter in the franchise's exciting ongoing story. As such, its carefully chosen music usage, including a terrific score from returning composer Christophe Beck (Ant-Man, WandaVision), exposes the film's central themes and provides an undeniably enjoyable movie-going experience for any music lover.

Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania's Score Is Full Of Great Jokes

While the MCU's humor is usually associated with its characters, several composers within the franchise have hidden hilarious jokes in their musical scores, and Christophe Beck is no exception. Much like frequent MCU collaborator Michael Giacchino, who composed the scores for Thor: Love and Thunder and the Spider-Man: Homecoming trilogy, Beck often hides hilarious puns in the titles of his songs. Among the best of these are "Sting Low, Sweet Variant" and "Honey, I Shrunk the Energy Core." Perhaps the most notable track in the entire score, however, is "Fifty Shades of Kang," a title that certainly bears no further contemplation.

The official Quantumania soundtrack also includes a fun Easter egg in the form of "Holes," performed by returning Ant-Man star and superhero movie mainstay David Dastmalchian. Dastmalchian, who portrayed ex-con Kurt in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, portrays Veb in Quantumania, a gelatinous inhabitant of the Quantum Realm who is strangely obsessed with the various holes in the human body. As an added bonus on the official soundtrack, listeners can catch a short but hilarious tune sung by Veb, which delves into somewhat uncomfortable detail on several human holes. This bonus song is a completely unexpected, but not totally unwelcome, surprise to an already stellar soundtrack.
