The Dead By Daylight licensed Evil Dead's Ash for their own pool of survivors and misfits.
Most recently, Evil Dead: The Game has allowed players to take control of characters from the movies and television series in order to fight off some of the most terrifying undead and demonic creatures the series has to offer. Nearly all of the faces should be familiar to new and young fans alike.
Kelly Maxwell
Kelly Maxwell is one of the many people who worked at the ValueStop supermarket with Ash at the beginning of the television series. She is a resourceful character who s Ash on his crusade against the undead and is one of the few who survives through to the end of the series.
In the game, Kelly is a hunter, one of the character classes that focuses on dealing damage with ranged weapons. She is a quick and nimble character who deals extra damage after dodging attacks. Much like how she quickly learns the tricks of the trade, Kelly makes an excellent starting character for new players.
Amanda Fisher
Throughout the first season of Ash Vs The Evil Dead, Amanda is a constant shadow to Ash and his team's antics. She believes Ash is responsible for her partner's death for a time until she s up with him herself. In the series, she dies at the end of the first season, but she returns for the Evil Dead video game.
Amanda Fisher is another hunter in the game, able to deal damage at range with firearms. Her special ability allows her to fire her weapon without using ammo, making her a dangerous force against the Deadites if left unchecked.
Henrietta Knowby
The wife of Raymond Knowby, Henrietta is the first person possessed by the Kandarian demon after Raymond unwittingly released it. She is a major villain in the second film, in which she first appears, alongside her husband who cannot bring himself to kill her and does horrible things because of it.
In the game, Henrietta is the boss of the Warlord Deadite team. This team is made up of the classic zombie Deadites that are common throughout The Evil Dead series. Henrietta is a very fast and very gross-out kind of character that the demon player can use to defeat the survivors.
Cheryl Williams
Ashley Williams' younger sister appears in the first film, and is the first to be possessed by the demon and turned into a Deadite. She also makes some appearances in the television series in both flashbacks, memories, and briefly as a demon disguised as the deceased sister.
In the game, Cheryl appears as a character, able to place a book of life down which will heal all the surrounding players. It is of note that her appearance in the game is more heavily based on how she looks in the first film. The game clearly makes good use of nostalgia.
Annie Knowby
The Knowbys are the family who discovers the Book of the Dead, which summons the demons and releases the Deadites. Raymond Knowby is the voice heard on the recorder during the very first film, which recites the incantation that releases the Deadites into the world. Annie is his daughter.
Annie Knowby appears in the newest game as a Leader, who provides a buff to other characters nearby. She appears just as she did in the second film with her classic handkerchief and yellow blouse. Raymond Knowby's recordings also make an appearance in the extras, unlockable via the single-player missions.
Ed Getley
In the Second film, Ed Getley is one of the protagonists. He is both Annie Knowby's boyfriend, as well as Raymond Knowby's research assistant. He is killed towards the end of the film after he is possessed by the Deadite demon, which leads to Ash having to defeat him with his ax.
Evil Dead: The Game allows players to take on the role of a hunter version of Ed. Ed is a unique character who has a special flashlight that destroys traps that the demon player can lay down. Like most Evil Dead characters in the game, the film character lacked a bit of personality, so the game creators had a lot of freedom in character design.
Eligos
The Eligos demon is a minor villain in the first season of the Ash Vs The Evil Dead series. It is summoned by Ash, who tries to interrogate it in order to find out how to destroy the Book of the Dead for good. Though it appears only briefly, the demon is very unique and iconic to the series.
The Eligos demon appears in the game as the boss of the Puppeteer demons. Demon players of all kinds can possess survivors and summoned Deadites alike, but a player using the Puppeteer hoard grants increased strength and health to units they possess, a trait befitting the demon.
Pablo Simon Bolivar
From the beginning of the Ash Vs The Evil Dead series, Pablo Simon Bolivar was Ash's companion and sidekick. Pablo's journey takes him from the ValueStop supermarket where he and Ash meet all the way to the end of the series. Pablo's appearance in the game is very familiar.
Pablo's in-game abilities and look mirror that of his series appearance. In the game, he can create protective amulets using some of his mystical power, and we meet his uncle El Brujo in the single-player mission that players must finish in order to unlock him for use.
Lord Arthur
A big surprise for the game is the return of characters from the film The Army of Darkness. The third film begins where the second ends - with Ash being sucked through a portal in time and landing in the medieval era. In Evil Dead: The Game, two characters from the film reappear.
Lord Arthur is the leader of the land that Ash finds himself in. Arthur isn't a central character in the movie but appears after Ash defeats the Deadites. Once Ash brokers peace in the lands, he finds a way to travel back to his own time, leaving Lord Arthur and his kingdom better off.
Ashley "Ash" Williams
Since the very beginning, Bruce Campbell's Ash has been a leading star in the fight against the Deadites. His trademark swagger and chainsaw served him well as he fought off the undead through 5 different movies, 3 seasons of television, and countless comic appearances.
Ash isn't just one playable character, he is five. Each of the four classes has one version of Ash to represent it - the first film's young Ash as a , the second film's as a hunter, Army of Darkness' as a Warrior, and the tv series' Ash as a Leader. What's more, the Army of Darkness' Evil Ash leads the Necromancer team of Undead.
