Evil season 4 may mark the show’s final run, but it’s set to go out with a bang, having received an order of four bonus episodes, bringing the final episode count to 14.
With Evil finally set to return on Paramount+, David Acosta actor Colter spoke exclusively to Screen Rant about the return of The Entity, while teasing the arrival of an unnamed guest star playing an agent of that enigmatic and dangerous group. Check out his remarks below:
You know, I love working with the individual you're referring to. I probably can't say that, because I don't think we've revealed the guest stars. But just in case, I love working with that actor, and he was really fun. Yeah, I'm gonna tease you, I'm gonna disguise him. [Chuckles] When you hear who he is, you're gonna be like, "Oh, man, that's great." He was so good, and honestly, so well prepared. I've seen his work for years, I think I talked to you [Katja] about this. And I thought the storyline that carried on with The Entity and what that was about, it just becomes more ominous. It's always like, "What layer is this? Who are you and what were the other people that I've been dealing with before?" It feels like you're a special agent within the Church, and it goes all the way up to the Pope. It's a really interesting part and narrative that they've given David, so I enjoy playing it, it just gives him a purpose that feels really important. And at first, when he had this purpose, obviously, he kept it from his colleagues, and eventually he told them about it. And it just makes it that much more interesting that they're involved, and they're doubting it, and they don't know what's going on, and I don't understand what's going on either. "But I gotta go, I got something to do, and you guys got to come with me." It's cool.
Will The Entity Be Revealed As Good Or Evil?
The mysterious Entity has been presented as a group that exists in a gray area, doing secret battle against demonic forces, and sometimes crossing moral lines in the process. Whether the Evil show's Entity can ultimately be considered a force for good or evil is yet to be seen, but it seems a darker side of the group is about to be revealed, as Colter himself recently teased in an interview with TVLine:
“The Entity is still a thing. [It has] sort of morphed into something that I will say is slightly more sinister, maybe, because the Entity is separate from the Church. He’s always wondering… is it good? And is it for the betterment of mankind?
“[It’s exciting] because, you know, just being a priest and taking confession every week is kind of boring.”
It seems David will get some answers about the inner-workings of The Entity in Evil season 4, and some of those answers will come from a mysterious agent with deep church ties played by an as-yet-unrevealed guest star. Also yet to be answered is whether David will continue doing the bidding of the group, or will ultimately turn against it. How Leland's twisted plans involving the baby born from Kristen's stolen egg play into the Entity's designs will also, presumably, be explained.
Evil is available to watch on Paramount+
It would be surprising if David were to discover something truly shocking about The Entity and not fight against it, but perhaps a big character twist is in the offing. Evil season 4 seems ready to put David, Kristen and Ben in greater peril than ever as they come up against forces both demonic and earthly, and finally get some answers about the shadowy powers that have seemingly been manipulating the show's supernatural storylines all throughout its four-season run.

Evil is a psychological mystery series that follows a skeptical forensic psychologist, Kristen Bouchard, who teams up with a Catholic priest-in-training and a tech expert to investigate purportedly supernatural incidents. The series delves into complex themes of religion, science, and the nature of evil through its deeply layered narrative and character development. The show stars Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, and Aasif Mandvi.
