Exoprimal is the latest game featuring dinosaurs to come from Capcom, the company behind Dino Crisis. Initially, players hoped that Exoprimal would be a successor to Dino Crisis, even if it was only in spirit and not name. While there are similarities between the games at first glance, Exoprimal is its own title, and it has a heavy emphasis on multiplayer that can leave players wondering if there's a single-player option for those who prefer a solo gaming experience.

While season updates for Exoprimal will add new content, including more modes, to the game, there are currently 11 game modes that players can experience. From modes like Dinosaur Cull and VTOL Defense, where dinosaurs are the primary enemy, to Energy Taker and Uplink Control, where other players are the enemy, there are plenty of choices of game modes for players. However, they all seem to focus either on PVP or co-op multiplayer.

Exoprimal Isn't Designed For Single-Player

Right now, there isn't a single-player option available in Exoprimal for players who prefer to play alone. It's possible that Capcom will add a single-player mode in the future with an update, but it seems unlikely given the style of game modes currently available. Even for modes that don't have a PVP element, there's still a focus on co-op multiplayer and working together, which means that those modes are also designed in a way that would make single-player difficult at best.

Some players hoped that it'd be a spiritual successor, but Exoprimal isn't like Dino Crisis with gameplay. As such, players waiting for a remake, reboot, or continuation of Capcom's original dinosaur franchise will have to keep waiting for the time being. However, players who enjoyed Dino Crisis and like multiplayer games might find Exoprimal to be fun despite not being connected to it. But if players are looking for a single-player game to pick up, then this might not be the best option for them since it's focused on working with other players, even if it's against NPCs.

Exoprimal has been released, and it might not be Dino Crisis, but that doesn't mean that players aren't enjoying it as its own game. Exoprimal puts new-age technology against prehistoric enemies and players can choose to work together against dinosaurs or battle against other players using the diverse number of game mode options. Although there's unlikely to be any single-player modes in the near future, players who are looking for a multiplayer gaming experience, with or without PVP, might find that Exoprimal is a good choice for them.
