four audio features Facebook announced earlier this year.

Facebook has become well known for adapting features it likes the look of elsewhere for its own platform and for that of its subsidiary Instagram. A recent example is TikTok-like Reels short video format last year. Facebook isn't the only company to muscle in on Clubhouse's concept, though. Twitter, Reddit, LinkedIn, and Telegram are among those that have rolled out similar features or are working to do so.

Those looking for Live Audio Rooms that may be of interest are advised to keep an eye out in their News Feeds and notifications, with them presumably being flagged up depending on what s have liked on Facebook. It seems likely that Facebook will look to build out some discoverability features in the future. s can also set reminders for Live Audio Rooms in which they are interested.

Once in a room, s can listen to what is going on, raise a virtual hand if they have something to say, and give reactions as they might do on a traditional post. It's also possible to buy packs of 'Stars,' which can be sent to creators as a way to them and bump the 's name up to the top of the room — or to the 'front row.' s are notified if any of their friends or followers a room they are in and live captions are available.

For the time being, only certain public figures and Groups in the US that are using iOS can create Live Audio Rooms, although both iOS and Android s can access them to listen in. The roll-out will be continuously broadened over the coming weeks, as will the feature set of Live Audio Rooms.
