WARNING: The following contains SPOILERS for The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder
Danny Phantom — The Fairly OddParents is considered a Nickelodeon classic. Now, Fairly Odder is taking a live-action look at an old favorite. From the obvious to the hard-to-spot references, here is a guide to every Fairly OddParents easter egg in Fairly Odder season 1.
Paramount+'s Fairly Odder picks up a few years after The Fairly OddParents ends. Timmy (Caleb Pierce) is all grown up, and thanks to Wanda and Cosmo, he's heading off to Princeton University. Though his godparents are all set to him through college, Timmy has other plans; he's entrusting his fairies to his younger cousin, Vivian Turner (Audrey Grace Marshall). Viv is incredibly shy, and Timmy knows she'll need the help of Wanda and Cosmo to survive the move to Dimmsdale to live with her new stepmother and stepbrother. When the hand-off gets all mixed up, Viv is forced to share Wanda and Cosmo with her new stepbrother, Roy Raskin (Tyler Wladis) — an extroverted boy who is something of a local celebrity.
Easter eggs aren't the only thing left over from the original series. The Fairly OddParents reboot follows a new cast of characters, but the series has proven it hasn't forgotten its roots. Wanda and Cosmo are still the magical stars of the show — and the pair are still voiced by the same voice actors, Susanne Blakeslee and Daran Norris. The evil teacher, Denzel Crocker, is also played by his original voice actor, Carlos Alazraqui — though, Alazraqui's live-action appearance is a break of tradition from his role in Fairly OddParents.
A Framed Photo Of Timmy's Bedroom
Fairly Odder episode 1, "Cake, Dance, & Solid Gold Pants," begins with Timmy Turner breaking the news to Wanda and Cosmo that they aren't coming along with him to Princeton. Timmy's bedroom might look a lot different than veteran fans , but he hasn't forgotten his roots; in a frame on the wall, Timmy has a picture of his bedroom as it looked in Fairly OddParents.
A Callback To The Old Intro
Like everything else that was updated with the reboot, the Fairly OddParents theme song also got the update treatment. One of the most iconic lines of the original intro — "obtuse, rubber goose, green moose, guava juice; giant snake, birthday cake, large fries, chocolate shake!" — was removed from the intro to add rhyming lines from the new main characters, Viv and Roy. That doesn't mean the show has forgotten its musical routes, though; when suggesting wishes to Roy in Fairly Odder episode 1, Cosmo suggests wishing for "a giant snake, birthday cake, large fries, or a chocolate shake," as a nod back to the original intro song.
Mr. Crocker's Conspiracy Wall
Denzel Crocker was once an evil teacher at Dimmsdale Elementary School with a vendetta against fairies, and therefore, Timmy Turner. Though Vicky has taken over his position as the evil teacher, Crocker's legacy lives on through the conspiracy board he built in his quest to prove that fairies exist. When the board is revealed in Vicky's classroom, multiple easter eggs from the original series can be found amongst the red strings and conspiracy theories. A calendar highlights March 15, 1972, otherwise known as "Denzel Crocker Day" — the day Mr. Crocker is at his meanest. In Fairly OddParents season 3 episode 30, "The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker!," Timmy takes a trip back in time to prevent him from becoming the miserable person he is now; instead, Timmy discovers his fairy obsession stemmed from his own godparents, Wanda and Cosmo, being taken away from him. The board also references several devices Crocker invented in his quest for proof of fairies, including his fairy tracker and his dream painful monitor collar.
Crimson Chin Poster
The Crimson Chin was once the hero of Dimmesdale and Timmy Turner himself, who once served as his sidekick, Cleft, the Boy Chin Wonder. Though the Crimson Chin doesn't make an appearance in Fairly Odder season 1, he is given a place of honor on Viv's wall after Wanda and Cosmo gave it a Fairly Odder episode 1.
Timmy's Father
As Ty Turner is the brother of Timmy Turner's father—who was never given a first name in the original series and frequently referred to as just "dad"—it would make sense for Ty to have a photo of him in their home. However, Timmy's Father appears in quite a unique place: on a sticker on Ty's barbeque grill. The image on the sticker is a possible callback to Fairly OddParents season 3 episode 20, "The Grass is Greener," where Dad's rivalry with his neighbor, Mr. Dinkleberg, literally blew up over BBQ.
Dimmsdale Tourism Posters
In Fairly Odder, Viv Turner is struggling to adapt to the weird things that happen in Dimmsdale—and a lot of weird things happen in Dimmsdale. These odd occurrences are highlighted by the Dimmsdale tourism posters that hang on the living room walls in the Raskin-Turner household. Each poster is a callback to events that happened in The Fairly OddParents. One poster s kayaking at the Dimmsdale Dam, a dam near Downtown Dimmsdale that appeared multiple times in The Fairly OddParents, both as a threat and a local tourism spot. Another poster reads "Dimmsdale Volcano Rafting," making a nod to Mt. Dimmsdale, an active volcano near the Dimmsdale Dam that threatened the town's safety multiple times.
Tad & Chad Poster
Before Viv's room was given the magic treatment in "Cake, Dance, & Solid Gold Pants," there were some leftover odds and ends in the attic. One such item was a framed poster of two familiar faces — Tad and Chad. In Nickelodeon's original Fairly OddParents, Tad and Chad were some of the most popular kids in Dimmsdale as well as inseparable best friends, frequently referred to as a single unit. If the poster is any indication, Tad and Chad's popularity hasn't diminished any over the years, possibly even reaching genuine celebrity status.
Roy's Shiny Teeth
The Fairly OddParents featured some iconic songs, but none were more memorable than Chip Skylark's "My Shiny Teeth and Me." The song was popstar Chip Skylark's first big hit to be featured in The Fairly OddParents, premiering in season 3 episode 3, "The Boys in the Band" and appearing multiple times throughout the series. Fairly Odder makes a subtle reference to the song in episode 10, "Roynocchio," when Viv accuses Roy of lying through his teeth in his attempt to become class president. Roy responds in true fashion, brushing off the accusation by pointing out that he was lying through his "shiny teeth," topped off with a wink. Chip Skylark himself has yet to appear in the series, as Dimmsdale has adopted a new popstar — Dustin Lumberlake.
The Fairy Prisoners
After Viv and Roy send Denzel Crocker through the magical world to Fairy World and spoil his evil plans, Crocker ends up in Fairy World Prison. While Crocker promises Jorgen Von Strangle that he will one day escape, various other prisoners can be spotted in the background. In the first cell is a lawn gnome, The Fairly OddParents season 5 TV special, "Fairy Idol," where the lawn gnomes sang to reaffirm the fact that they are not pixies — only to immediately be called pixies by Jorgen. The next cell holds an Anti-Fairy, the shadows of fairy godparents who are determined to spread bad luck everywhere they go. The Anti-Fairies played the antagonist several times throughout Fairly OddParents, which is why they are held in the Fairy World prisons.
