Variety has confirmed that the new series, Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, will see the return of voice actors Susanne Blakeslee and Daran Harris as Wanda and Cosmo, respectively. Nickelodeon is moving ahead with 20 episodes of A New Wish, which will debut on the cable channel this spring. Internationally, the series will be available on Netflix.

Blakeslee and Harris will be ed in the sequel show by Ashleigh Crystal Hairston, who will voice a new main character named Hazel Wells. Moving to the big city of Dimmadelphia, which is referenced in the original, Hazel is coming to a new environment because of her dad's job. But on top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it’s also the first time she’s been without her brother, Antony.
Antony has just left for college, which in turn makes Hazel feel lonely and unsure of herself. But all that changes once Hazel learns that her supposedly ordinary neighbors are the returning Cosmo and Wanda. They've come out of retirement to make all of Hazel’s wishes come true. A New Wish is executive produced by David Stone, Lindsay Katai, Hairston, and Daniel Abramovici, and original series creator Hartman.

It's not the first time the story of Fairy OddParents has taken a somewhat different form. There have already been three live-action movies with Drake Bell in the role of Timmy Turner. Recently, in 2022, a live-action sequel, titled The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder, included Timmy moving on to college while Cosmo and Wanda take after Timmy's cousin, Viv. There have also been plans to make a spinoff focused on the Crash Nebula character that didn't move forward.
