A long-awaited release date for WandaVision beginning its first season on Disney+ in January. It will also directly follow WandaVision in ushering in Phase Four for the MCU, which will turn the page on many of the building block franchises of the Marvel universe.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was rumored to be in development since September 2018 and was officially announced in April 2019. While filming for the show commenced in October 2019, it was one of the first series to publicly grappled with filming delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which helped delay its arrival as well. Filming finally concluded in October, paving the way for the show's six episodes to be finished and ready to be delivered to the streaming service.

As part of the myriad of announcements made by Disney to their investors on Thursday, it was announced by Marvel Studios on Twitter that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier would begin streaming on March 19. The language used in the Twitter post - "starts streaming" - all but confirms that episodes would be released one-by-one, likely weekly in the same manner as The Mandalorian. With the miniseries only consisting of six episodes, it will likely run its full gamut of episodes by the end of April, prior to the debut of Loki in May.

In addition to the release date, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier also received its first proper trailer release on Thursday. The trailer features Sam Wilson saying "the legacy of that shield is complicated" as he picks up the mantle of being a superhero, set to follow in the footsteps of Captain America. The trailer also features plenty of action sequences with Sam and Bucky, as well as a nice buddy moments between the two at the end of the trailer.

The original hope was for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier to come out back in August 2020, meaning the series is coming around seven months later than expected. That delay has only added to the hype of the six-episode show, which cost around $150 million to make. For many, it is the most anticipated of the forthcoming MCU series. Fans can officially start their countdown clocks for the debut of the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on March 19.
