A free update has been announced for Fallout 4 that's going to make it better than ever. The last main single-player entry in the franchise, Fallout 4 was released to critical acclaim back in 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and while it's available via backward compatibility on the current generation of consoles, many have hoped it would get an upgrade that optimized the newer hardware like many other titles from the last console generation.
As announced on Bethesda Game Studios' official X , this will finally be coming on April 25th. Native applications are being launched digitally for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and those who already owned the game on PS4 and Xbox One will receive a free update when they boot up their games in their current-gen devices on this day.
This update will add new Performance mode and Quality mode settings across all platforms, as well as stability improvements and fixes to allow the game to run at 60 FPS with increased resolutions. PC players will also be treated to widescreen and ultra-widescreen , with further fixes to the Creation Kit, and updated quests. The game will also become "verified" on the Steam Deck due to the new stability features.
Fallout 4 players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will also receive a free update with stability improvements, and and quest fixes.

What Is The Best Faction In Fallout 4?
There are a number of Fallout 4 factions players can connect with but which group is the best? The answer is slightly complicated.
More Content Is Being Added To Fallout 4
Including New Creation Club Items
The Fallout 4 updates will also add more content to the game, including free Creation Club items. These include 38 new decorations from an ill-fated Halloween party, a "Makeshift Weapon Pack" that includes a variety of unconventional objects that have been transformed into deadly weapons, such as a baseball launcher, a nail gun, and a piggy bank.
"Enclave Remnants" seems to be the largest pack, bringing the Pre-War cabal, The Enclave into Fallout 4's story. This introduces a new quest called Echoes of the Past, along with the following, previously released Creation Club content:
- Enclave Weapon Skins
- Enclave Armor Skins
- Tesla Cannon
- Hellfire Power Armor
- X-02 Power Armor
- Heavy Incinerator
All this extra content certainly should be enough to entice players to revisit the Wasteland in Fallout 4 on April 25. This update couldn't have come at a better time either, with the Fallout TV show on Amazon Prime releasing to tremendously high praise from both critics and fans, which will probably encourage an entirely new audience to pick up the game.
