Fallout 76 has a new update, and with it a quest that will have you gathering personal effects for a man named Craig. To meet him you will have to have the Skyline Valley, Appalachia update, and progress through the main quests for this story. This will allow you to go searching for his friends and start the quest for gathering the personal effects.

In the Skyline Valley update for Fallout 76, there is a whole new piece of the map for players to explore that lies further south than any other part of Appalachia that has been explored. It covers the Shenandoah Valley, which is full of new settlements, new quests, lots of cults, and a mysterious storm to decipher. It is in one of these small settlements that you will meet Craig, and start his quest to find his friends.

Skyline Valley is the biggest update Fallout 76 has delivered, adding a vast new area and more Ghouls than players can shake an electric sword at.

Searching For Craig’s Friends

Into The Storm

The three locations of Craig's friends in Fallout 76

One of the first locations in Fallout 76 that you will come across is Skyline Drive. Following the Lands Unknown quest you will come across Craig and he will ask you to find his friends that wandered out into the mysterious storm. It is while searching Makeout Point that you will discover Miles’ body, and you will then be tasked with searching for his personal effects to return them to Craig.

Miles’ Hat

Along The Cliffs

Finding Miles' hat in Skyline Valley in Fallout 76

From where his body is, follow the blood trail and hop down the cliff to reach the hat. It is not as hard to find as the others and with a trail leading right to it, it is the easiest of the effects to find. Once you pick up the hat, you can continue onto the next location where Rob was last suspected to be.

You will need to send up a flare at the location of each dead body.

Rob’s Journal

Tension In The Party

If you follow the road south of Makeout Point, you will come across a tunnel with several abandoned campers. If you have trouble finding the location, check out YouTuber Singeferno's video to see the walking path for yourself. You will eventually find a barrier with a red S.O.S. sign painted on it and Rob’s body. His journal will give you hints about the tension among the team and show that not all was right and rosy between them.

Rebecca’s Holotags

Dark Hollow Manor

Finding Rebecca's Holotags in Fallout 76 in Skyline Valley

You will not be given a map marker location for Rebecca, but the journal indicates you should search for the Dark Hollow Manor location, which you can find on your map. Mark it and find Rebecca’s Holotags near the entrance gate near a dead lost body. There is a blood puddle near some of these bodies, and this is the location of the flare you should send up for Rebecca. Do so and you will have completed the Lands Unknown Quest.

Return To Craig

For Their Families

However, you should still return to Craig and give him the information about his friends and return the Personal Effects to him. He will then say he is going to try to get a signal to Foundation so that he can go back there safely - bringing Catty of course. With all the effects returned to him, this is the end of this mission and you can search for the next one in Fallout 76.
