Vault Dwellers Can Now Go South, The Deep South
The Release Date For The Fallout 76 Skyline Valley Update Is June 12
The Skyline Valley update includes Fallout 76's first map expansion, which broadens the southern section of the map. However, there is a lot more than irradiated wastelands for players to discover. Battles against new Fallout enemies like mutated wildlife and even giant robots promise to increase the game's intensity, but there is also the surprisingly calm and peaceful Vault 63 that awaits players in the latest expansion. They will need to fight their way into the new content, but exciting quests and interesting new characters are ready to greet players and expand Fallout's lore in many ways.
New locations, weapons, lore, and enemies were waiting around almost every nook and cranny of Fallout 76's freshest area. While the horizons of Appalachia seem brighter than when the game first launched, Skyline Valley's skies were dark and ominous, with an eerie red glow and an intimidating storm that included impressive weather effects. As players worked to find discoveries together, lightning strikes and previously unseen types of radiated enemies assaulted fellow vault dwellers, accentuating the helpfulness of teamwork.
Skyline Valley will be accessible along with its mysteries and hidden items to all Fallout 76 players. However, lower-level players may want to level up or find helpful teammates before exploring its sections. During the limited time in Skyline Valley, several activities required the help of multiple players to stand a chance. One particularly memorable event included defending a large metal contraption while it soaked up lighting strikes, all while hordes of Ghouls and a giant crayfish boss with a school bus shell gained interest in the area.
A Tease For Fallout 76's Ghoulish Future
Playing As A Ghoul Will Require New Challenges And Patience
Fans of the games and Amazon's hit live-action Fallout series should be aware that not all Ghouls are feral monsters. Throughout Fallout 76's story, especially in the expansion, friendly Ghouls play a large role in Appalachia, and they will play an even more prominent role when level 50 players gain the ability to play as a Ghoul for the first time in the franchise. Playing as a Ghoul won't become available in the Skyline Valley update, but sometime in 2025, the feature will provide an entirely new way to enjoy the game with several added benefits and even some drawbacks.
The Creative Director of Fallout 76, Jonathan Rush, teased that playing as a Ghoul will bring players added challenges and benefits. Instead of draining players' health, radiation will heal Ghoul players and possibly do even more with the right player cards equipped to provide extra bonuses. These are only some of the gameplay changes that will come with making the transformation that players can undo with a secret method that should make sense with Fallout's lore. However, there will be a few updates to the game before players can learn more about playing as a Ghoul.
