Previously, Purnell had two other shows where she voiced main characters - Jinx in Arcane and Gwyn in Star Trek: Prodigy - but they both ended with their second seasons in 2024. The only other show that could count - Yellowjackets - saw Purnell in a recurring role for its second and third seasons.

Purnell has actually had a remarkable track record of only appearing in short-lived shows. Aside from Arcane and Star Trek: Prodigy, Purnell's next-longest show as a main character was the two-season Sweetbitter. The rest of her serialized efforts were either in guest appearances for a single season, like Invincible, in limited series, such as Belgravia, or starring in the one-season Sweetpea. In effect, Fallout's renewal marks a big change for Purnell, and a sign that she'll have a consistent starring TV role for at least the next few years.

Jackie has been dead for a while, but Yellowjackets has had no problem having Purnell return in visions or flashbacks in the past, and that trend could easily extend to season 4. Again, however, Purnell is only a recurring or guest actor in Yellowjackets at this point, meaning it won't be able to usurp Fallout's record.
