TheHulk and fans got to see the true potential of her powers.
Susan Storm Richards is Marvel’s first lady. A founding member of the Fantastic Four, the Invisible Woman is also a trained spy whose powers can injure even a Celestial. She received her powers in the cosmic accident that created the Fantastic Four, as her genetics were fundamentally altered by cosmic rays. Sue's original powers as the Invisible Girl were simply to turn invisible, however later updates to the character gave her the ability to form invisible shapes - an upgrade which has made her a truly fearsome fighter.
Invisible Woman unleashed her full power in Hulk #22, by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness. In this issue, a radioactive explosion gives various heroes new Hulk forms, including Susan Storm. When Hulked-Out, the Invisible Woman has ridged, bladed hands, tackling the Red Hulk with immense strength. It's impressive to see the Fantastic Four member's strength turned up to 11, but what's really significant is the implication that Sue Storm is able to turn invisible and manipulate the shape of her own body. This marries her two powers into one, and gives her unprecedented control over her physical form. Sue's Hulk form is only seen for a moment, but the idea that at their maximum power, her powers become one would answer the question of why she's able to turn invisible and create shaped forcefields - powers that don't inherently go together.
Invisible Woman Can Shapeshift?!
Sue’s powers have always been more powerful than fans generally see. Her force fields have even been shown to be powerful enough to protect against the unraveling of reality itself. Even Wolverine its that the Invisible Woman is the one member of the Fantastic Four he fears the most. Her shield projection power has been shown to be able to smash through walls and even people, but it speaks volumes about Sue that she mostly uses her powers for protection. Any other hero with her abilities would be a one-hero wrecking crew, but Sue mostly seems concerned with protecting the ones she loves, rather than causing destruction on the battlefield.
The idea that Sue can control invisible matter - and that she can transmute her body to become that kind of matter - suggests an unexplored but brilliant connection between her abilities. It also makes her powers far more freakish, as once invisible, she could theoretically warp the shape of her body into any form she wanted. As a rage-filled Hulk, all that amounted to was bladed limbs, but in full control of her faculties and power, Invisible Woman could become something so much more than human - hopefully, the Fantastic Four's continued adventures will eventually force her to realize that potential.
