At San Diego Comic-Con, where Screen Rant is in attendance, Marvel has revealed that The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the new title of the team's MCU debut. The movie starts filming on Tuesday.

Marvel Studios also shared a look at the Fantastic Four's Fantasticar as it flew through Hall H.

The first footage from The Fantastic Four: First Steps was also revealed, with a retro look as Reed Richards taught a class. The Thing's silhouette could be seen. At the end of the footage, the Fantastic Four wear their astronaut uniforms as they board a rocket and fly off. Galactus is seen behind a building, looking comic book-accurate.

Way before Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby had been cast as the MCU's Reed Richards and Sue Storm, there was an interesting rumor about what their characters' roles would entail that gained some momentum. Reed and Sue were rumored to be parents in the Fantastic Four movie. While Marvel has yet to announce that Franklin and Valeria Richards, Reed and Sue's kids from the comics, are in the movie, the Fantastic Four reboot's new title could point that way.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the new title of the movie. "First Steps" could be a direct nod to Reed and Sue being parents in the film, with Franklin and Valeria still very young during the team's MCU debut. Another possible meaning of the Fantastic Four reboot's new title is that the project could serve as the first step for these characters in the MCU. The Space Race in the movie's 1960s setting could also be behind the title's meaning.

Marvel Studios' Hall H also confirmed that the Fantastic Four will appear in the next two Avengers movies, which are Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Robert Downey Jr. will play Doctor Doom in the films, serving as the main villain of the Fantastic Four.
