There are a few moral dilemmas present in Far Cry 6, and that is nothing new to the Far Cry franchise. One of the choices given to Dani is whether or not to kill the Yanqui, Sean McKay, to prevent him from escaping Yara, and returning back to America.
Sean McKay is a powerful member of the Castillo regime in Far Cry 6, so it makes sense why Dani may want to see him dead, but Juan Cortez recommends against it. Not only are there moral considerations to be made, but there are also some different rewards to think about when deciding whether or not to allow McKay to return back home after what he has contributed to in Yara.
Whether or not the player has strong feelings either way, it is important to know exactly what they are missing out on by making either choice. Largely, the decision comes down to money.
Should You Kill or Spare McKay in Far Cry 6?
As far as how the rewards differ based on Dani's decision, it comes down to whether the player wants money now, or increased money-making potential later. Unlike the mythical animals in Far Cry 6, there is still money to be made if McKay is left alive.
Reward for Killing Sean McKay
- If McKay is killed, Dani will be able to pick up the unique wrist item "Canadians, What?" This rare piece of equipment makes dead enemies drop pesos, as long as they are killed using poison. This can be made pretty easy by getting the Poison Ammo modification for Dani's weapons. Getting this item can add quite a bit of money-making potential for those that still plan on enjoying Far Cry 6 for a long time after the decision is made. For those who are blitzing through the main story of Far Cry 6, it may not be as useful.
Reward for Allowing Sean McKay to Live
- If Dani allows McKay safe age back to America, he will be rewarded with a one-time payment of 5,000 pesos. While this isn't a massive amount of money in Far Cry 6, for those that don't plan on spending as much time killing enemies, or don't feel like using poison weapons or mods, the guaranteed cash may be the preferable option. Whichever way the player goes, there is some decent financial benefit to be had.
