Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Fast X.

Gal Gadot returned as Gisele in Fast X, meaning that Fast & Furious 11 can finally give justice to Han. After retconning The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift's timeline to have multiple movies set before Han’s death, Fast & Furious decided to bring Sung Kang’s character back from the dead definitively in F9. However, despite his return in F9, Fast & Furious has yet to give justice to Han after how the films handled his story and the consequences of his fake death.

Han stole the show in Tokyo Drift, and the decision to bring him back for Fast & Furious, Fast Five, and Fast & Furious 6 despite the timeline inconsistencies was never questioned. However, Gisele’s death in Fast & Furious 6 followed by Dominic Toretto becoming friends with Deckard Shaw way too quickly led audiences to call for “justice for Han.” Gal Gadot’s return as Gisele in Fast X may be the final piece of the puzzle for Fast & Furious to finally fix its Han mistake.

F9 & Fast X Didn't Really Give Proper Justice For Han

Sung Kang as Han in Fast X

Han returned in F9, which revealed that Mister Nobody helped stage Han’s death as part of a secret mission. However, the fact that Deckard Shaw, who was not aware of Han’s secret mission, became part of Dominic Toretto’s family in The Fate of the Furious was never addressed. Han and Shaw did have a moment in Fast X, but there was not too much to it. Shaw simply thought that Han was seeking revenge, leading to a brief fight between Jason Statham and Sung Kang’s characters. In addition, Han’s story continued to be a tragic one, as Gisele, the love of his life, was seemly dead.

Now, Fast & Furious’ “Justice for Han” campaigns can finally be wrapped up with Gisele’s return ahead of the Fast & Furious 11. Exactly 10 years after both Gisele and Han “died” in Fast & Furious 6, Fast X made a Han and Gisele reunion possible. The interactions between Gal Gadot’s Gisele and Sung Kang’s Han were a highlight of both Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6, which makes their reunion in Fast & Furious 11 even more promising.

Giesele's Return Can Give Han True Justice And His Best Ending

Han and Gisele in Fast & Furious 6

Han had already been in four Fast & Furious movies by the time the Fast & Furious timeline caught up with Tokyo Drift. However, Han and Gisele were only together as a couple in Fast & Furious 6. While Fast & Furious is often criticized for never truly killing off characters, Han’s long-awaited return would never be complete without Gisele. As the Fast Saga approaches its conclusion after Fast X’s cliffhanger ending, Fast & Furious 11 might be the final chance of giving Han and Gisele their much-deserved happy ending.

F9 revealed that Gisele was working for Mister Nobody too, which all but confirmed that Gal Gadot’s character would return in Fast X. Considering that both Han and Gisele were working for Mister Nobody, it will be interesting to see whether they knew that the other was alive. Although it may be too soon to predict how Fast & Furious will end, Han and Gisele can finally go to Tokyo together as they always wanted.
