Assistant Director Keene Proves To Be Untrustworthy in FBI

It was easy to understand why Jubal quickly became the main suspect as a traitor when Director Reynolds (Ben Shenkman) started questioning him. Jubal’s poor decisions in the past and being ed over for a promotion could mean he was willing to work with a terrorist organization or be open to being blackmailed.

Of course, Jubal and Isobel (Alana De La Garza) started to question whether Reynolds was the one involved in the initial attack. That was until his phone exploded, killing him instantly. Fortunately, Maggie got up to the floor to find Isobel ed out and was able to hide as Assistant Director Keene walked into the room with one of his lackeys. Maggie overheard a conversation that made it clear Keene was the traitor, and he had done all of this to take over the New York Field Office.

As the office was shut down and everyone was put on istrative leave, Maggie got back to the group to share the news. Now they were left without any access to the FBI mainframe to get to the bottom of the attack, and they still needed to prove that Keene was behind it all. With access to CIs, they knew they could do some damage, but it was one member of the team willing to put herself in harm’s way to take Keene down for good.

Isobel's Role & Cliffhanger Explained

Will Isobel Survive in FBI Season 8?

Isobel talks to Jubal in the FBI season 7 finale

Despite initially being declared dead, Isobel arrived in the hideout where OA (Zeeko Zaki), Maggie, Dani (Emily Alabi), Scola (John Boyd), Elise (Vedette Lim), Ian (James Chen), and Jubal grouped together to figure out the situation. Getting over the initial shock, the group realized they would need to work their CIs to get to the reason why eight particular agents were attacked. It all comes back to operators looking into the influence cases.

With this information, Isobel went back to the office and revealed she survived. On top of that, she shares that she agrees with Keene and wants to help him, and she’s willing to give up the location of Maggie and OA, sharing that they are working off the books to take Keene down. How The Season 7 Finale Sets Up Season 8

Forefront Is Sure To Remain A Threat In FBI Season 8

The biggest question going into season 8 of the flagship FBI series is whether Isobel will live. There were already concerns that she was leaving the New York Field Office throughout season 7, but in the end, she made it clear that she trusted her people and she was looking forward to working with them. She may have suffered some delayed complications from the blast earlier in the episode, which isn’t surprising considering she didn’t get medical attention when she should have, and now the team may need to deal with grief, along with a terrorist threat still out there.

This will allow for Jubal to step up in her position temporarily, showing that he shouldn’t be held back in his career anymore.

Even if Isobel survives, she’s likely to take medical leave. This will allow for Jubal to step up in her position, showing that he shouldn’t be held back in his career. That will also mean someone else will need to be temporarily promoted into Jubal’s position, which could be either Maggie or OA.

At the same time, there is still a threat in FBI season 8. Forefront is still out there, and while the terrorists will need time to regroup, it’s clear that international threats are a concern. On top of that, there are people within the FBI who agreed with Keene, and they may still be hiding in the shadows, giving Forefront a new way in.
