Summary

- Fear Street 4 won't be a sequel to Part Three: 1666 but could bring back characters from previous movies.
- The Goode family, specifically Nick, may still play a role in Prom Queen.
Plot details for the fourth installment in Fear Street: Prom Queen, have been revealed, and it’s teasing the return of the trilogy’s main villain, though not as many might think. After the success of Netflix’s Fear Street trilogy in 2021, this horror world is expanding with a fourth movie. Based on the book series of the same name by R. L. Stine, Fear Street follows a group of teenagers who are being haunted by a serial killer. With the help of other town residents, they discover a curse that has plagued the town for centuries and set out to break it.
The third Fear Street movie, Fear Street Part Three: 1666, gave closure to the storyline of Sarah Frier, the curse, and the real villains of Shadyside, though it left the door open for a continuation as an unseen character took the satanic book from the tunnels. However, Fear Street 4 won’t be a sequel to Fear Street Part Three: 1666, which took the audience to 1994 at the end, and will instead be set between Fear Street Part Two: 1978 and Fear Street Part One: 1994. As such, it’s already hinting at the return of the trilogy’s main villain, but in a different way.

8 Original Trilogy Characters Who Can Return In Netflix’s Fear Street Sequel
Although Fear Street 4 will be a standalone expansion of the trilogy, it can see the return of some characters from the previous movies.
Fear Street: Prom Queen Could Have Nick Goode Back As Villain
Fear Street Part Three: 1666 revealed that the real responsible ones were the Goode family, beginning with Solomon Goode.
Throughout most of Fear Street, the murders and the overall bad luck of Shadyside are attributed to Shadyside’s first serial killer.
Sheriff Nick Goode (Zukerman), was revealed as the real villain in 1994.
From then on, the firstborn of each generation in the Goode family repeated the ritual started by Solomon, which is why the town they founded, Sunnyvale, always prospered, while Shadyside became worse and worse. Because of this, Sheriff Nick Goode (Zukerman), was revealed as the real villain in 1994. Now, Fear Street: Prom Queen has been revealed to be set in 1988, following the “It Girls” of high school competing for the crown, until an outsider gets nominated and the other girls mysteriously disappear.
As Nick Goode was killed in 1994, he could return in Fear Street: Prom Queen. Goode could be revealed to have made more than one “sacrifice” as part of the curse, and his first one could have been at the 1988 prom.
How Fear Street: Prom Queen Can Use The Goode Family As The Villain
Based on Nick’s age in Fear Street Part Two: 1978, he wouldn’t be in high school during the events of Prom Queen.
If not Nick Goode, the Goode family could still be the main antagonists in Fear Street: Prom Queen. The only of the Goode family who were introduced in the Fear Street trilogy were Solomon, Nick, and Will Goode, Nick’s brother who is also Shadyside’s mayor, so there are many others to be introduced. Based on Nick’s age in Fear Street Part Two: 1978, he wouldn’t be in high school during the events of Prom Queen, so instead of him triggering a wave of murders, it could be another member of the Goode family.
Given that the curse of the Goode family wasn’t broken until 1994, it’s going to be hard for Fear Street: Prom Queen to ignore their presence and the curse. While this would make the fourth Fear Street movie predictable, it’s also a great chance to expand this part of Shadyside’s dark history a bit more.
