Fear The Walking Dead has had its share of villains through the seasons, and each has their own unique flare. The Vultures, for example, employed a strategy whereby they intimidated communities and waited it out until they could take their belongings and territory. Martha, meanwhile, was devastated following the death of her husband and, being unable to find anyone who would help, decided that humanity no longer existed.

They all shared a common theme, however: they butt heads with the leader of the FTWD group and met their demise because of them. In the earlier seasons, it was Madison who took the lead in that department. In the latter seasons, it was Morgan. Even when Morgan changed in some ways, he still remained a target for rival groups. Nonetheless, their timely ends didn't come until after they had already wreaked major havoc.

Dakota

Dakota in Season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead

The most recent villain in season 6, Dakota only makes the list because she was solely responsible for the death of John Dorie – the most heartbreaking death of the season. While she's a villain fans were able to be somewhat sympathetic to, since she was just a teenager and had only her mother Virginia to guide her (who was a villain herself), Dakota she was still a villain, nonetheless.

Young and impressionable, even after killing John and being forgiven by the group, she continued to attack them. She was unable to believe there was redemption for her, and she made the ultimate sacrifice by dying in the missile explosions.

Martha

Martha from Fear the Walking Dead looking dirty and disheveled.

The group at first didn't understand why Martha was so intent on stopping them from helping people. While Morgan and his group just wanted to do good, she believed people were beyond redemption and only found true peace once they turned.

Her intention was good, in a way, but her methods were not. It was only in the episode when fans got to see her backstory that the truth about why Martha was the way she was became clear. Nonetheless, she was the primary antagonist for the entire second half of season 4. In yet another Morgan moment that doesn't make sense, he still refused to kill her, despite all her wrongdoings. She ended up dying anyway, having been bitten. Morgan did, however, handcuff her to the car to die there so she couldn't harm anyone else before she turned.

Logan

ing as the primary antagonist for the fifth season's second half, Logan met his demise much quicker than fans thought. Thus, he was one of the more short-lived villains. It seems that while he was initially one of the good ones, when he discovered that his partner Clayton's methods of trying to help weren't working when they rushed to save a woman who had already turned by the time they got there, he decided to Virginia and her crew.

But he played a pivotal role in helping the group find the oil fields and a valuable source of fuel. Ironically, this ended up leading to his death.

Reed & Connor

Jesse McCartney in Fear The Walking Dead

Reed and his friend Connor were two of the first villains the group encountered following the onset of the apocalypse and their escape onto Victor's yacht. A member of a group that called themselves the Pirates, and he appeared in season 2.

It was at the moment that they stormed the boat that Alicia realized she could not trust other survivors, as she recognized his voice as the nice young man she had been flirting with via the portable radio. In an interesting twist of fate, after Madison and Chris kill Reed, they present his reanimated body to Connor, who got bit by his own now undead friend.

Celia

Madison leading Celia into the cage on Fear the Walking Dead

A sort of alternate version of Hershel for the spin-off series, Celia was a religious woman who believed that the undead should be saved. Thus, she kept them locked up, believing the undead existed all along and that they still had some level of humanity.

In her warped views, Celia believed that the humans were the dangerous ones, not the walkers. Thus, while she would never kill a walker, she did not hesitate to kill humans. This made her especially dangerous. It also made her death all the more ironic since Madison tricked Celia and locked her in the cage with the walkers she was so desperate to save so that she could be consumed by them.

Virginia

One of the primary antagonists to last the longest on the show, Virginia appeared in the second half of season 5 and the first half of season 6. She was almost responsible for killing the group leader Morgan. And she had rival groups and those who worked for her shaking in their boots thanks to her cutthroat leadership style and tremendous skill at rallying troops and maintaining efficiency.

As it turned out, Virginia was only doing what she was doing because she believed it was necessary in order to protect her daughter Dakota who, up until the end, thought Virginia was her sister. But she served as one of Morgan's most formidable foes.

Proctor John

There are a lot of things fans didn't know about Proctor John at first. Appearing way back in the second half of season 3, his group, a motorcycle gang called The Proctors, he played a pivotal role that season as someone who threatened to kill just about every member of the group.

Indeed, it was his actions and intention to execute Nick, Victor, and Madison, which ultimately led to Nick detonating C4 in an attempted suicide mission to save his family and friends. It was an action-packed season, largely thanks to Proctor John's actions.

Troy Otto

Daniel Sharman as Troy Otto in Fear The Walking Dead

There were so many layers to Troy that made him not only a dangerous villain but also a compelling one to watch. Particularly compelling was his fascination with Madison and hers with him.

A member of the Broke Jaw Ranch, he was considered a secondary antagonist, next to his father Jeremiah Otto, in the second half of season 3. He behaved with frightening and sadistic tendencies, and it's implied that his dark side existed long before the apocalypse. His death – bludgeoned with a hammer to the head by Madison in season 3 – was the result of another one of Madison's clever manipulations to take out an enemy.

Melvin, Ennis And The Vultures

Kevin Zegers as Mel in Fear The Walking Dead

Alicia got her sweet revenge when she finally had the chance to kill Melvin, the charming and handsome yet evil leader of the group known as the Vultures. While Ennis and his crew arguably had the most cowardly methods, setting up camp outside of valuable places, causing problems until he could force people out and steal their goods, he met his match with Madison who refused to leave or bend to his rules.

Sadly, it was because of the Vultures not only that Madison died, but also that Nick died at the hands of Charlie, who wanted to avenge the death of Ennis. The Vultures were a big part of season 4 and Melvin's cocky attitude and brazen actions were among the most cold-blooded on the show.

Teddy

The most recent antagonist, Teddy was a villain long before the apocalypse. He represents the first time a serial killer was introduced in a big way on any of the shows, someone who was incredibly dangerous and had been sentenced to death long before the apocalypse.

As a doomsday cult leader, Teddy believed that what was happening confirmed what he believed would happen all along. He felt he was made for the world and managed to gather his own group of ers. A Charles Manson-like character, he was soft-spoken and charming, but also outrageously violent. He seemed to be able to show mercy yet in the end, it was revealed that everything he did was self-serving.
