Square Enix has released the final trailer for PS5 version of the hit remake, which also includes the FF7R Episode INTERmission DLC, starring classic character Yuffie.
The INTERmission DLC adds two new chapters toFF7 Remake, both of which feature Yuffie infiltrating the city of Midgar. Yuffie has entered Midgar in search of an "Ultimate Materia" that is in the hands of the Shinra Corporation. She teams up with Avalanche HQ in order to search for it. The DLC chapters appear to be set at different points in the story. Based on the new trailer, the first chapter appears to be set after Cloud is separated from Avalanche after the Air Buster fight, while the second happens before the attack on the Sector 7 Plate.
In an early Friday stream, Dirge of Cerberus was coming to the game as a boss, but the trailer has revealed that another character from that game will also be included: Deepground agent Nero the Sable will be fought by Yuffie during the INTERmission DLC in a newly revealed boss battle.
Square Enix previously confirmed that Yuffie would receive INTERmission. The final trailer has revealed that Ramuh, the Lord of Levin, will be one of the returning summons being added back into FF7 Remake Intergrade. Ramuh has the ability to strike enemies with a powerful bolt of lightning. Players originally couldn't acquire him until the Gold Saucer section of the original game, so his role in the story has been pushed forward.
The final trailer also revealed that Yuffie will face Scarlet from the Shinra Corporation in a new boss fight. Scarlet fights in a mech suit that resembles the Proud Clod from FF7, and it's clear that there is a history between her and Sonon, Yuffie's fighting companion. There's a lot to unpack in the final trailer for FF7 Remake Intergrade, and the inclusion of more Dirge of Cerberus content suggests that the original game's so-far altered story is about to get a lot weirder.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and FF7R Episode INTERmission will be available for PS5 on June 10, 2021.
